Chapter FourteenThe sound of men shouting in prison alarmed Franklin, who was seated on the floor. Opening his eyes, he viewed several guards running by. He wondered what was happening as he stood and walked over to the cell’s door. He asked what the commotion was about, but no one responded. Franklin observed a group of guards rushing towards the entrance then kneeling as they aimed their arrows at the doorway. As soon as the doors burst open, a large group of inmates came pouring out. The guards pointed their arrows at them and began to fire. The prisoners fell to the ground, and when the last one was killed, the guards moved ahead.
