Flabbergasted was an understatement. Johnny's statement pulled a groaning Melvin out of his semi-unconscious state. All eyes rested on only me. The world came to an abrupt end.
"What the hell? You mean, Harmony is your mate, your luna as in your wife?" Seraphina inquired, angrily.
If given the chance, I am sure I will be six feet below the earth like they had always wanted.
"You clearly heard me!"
"You bastard! You've been sleeping with your daughter. How ridiculous! And you!" Seraphina glanced at me. "You are indeed a slut. You have been sleeping with your biological father. Are you not ashamed of yourself?"
"Shut the hell up! Harmony is not my Luna in that dimension you are pushing. But I see her as my mate because she is a carbon copy of my wife, her mother whom I loved so dearly. And of course, I will no longer watch you maltreat her like an orphan. Do you get that? Now out of my sight!" Johnny ordered breathing heavily.
He was not the type to raise his voice. Rather he was a quiet person.
"And to you Melvin, I disown you. I don't want to see your feet near this house. And anyone who is seen in a conversation with him secretly or publicly should consider herself disowned as well. Now get the hell away from me. Your presence makes me want to puke put my intestine." Johnny's face grimaced in disgust.
Pleased, I watch them scurrying off as though pursued by an invisible lion. My heart relaxed.
"Look, I am sorry for all the pains and grievances those people subjected you to. I apologize for being insensitive to your pains. I am truly very sorry."
"It's fine." I waved the apology away. It wasn't really necessary anymore. "Dad, I have been sold off to Alpha Klieve's nephew, Prince Cole as a mate. Can't this be changed? We all know how callous and obnoxious Cole is. I won't survive Twenty-four hours with him." I confessed, baring out my fear.
"I am sorry. I wasn't there when she did it. I would have objected to it." A twinge of regret filled his voice. I felt so sorry for him.
"And unfortunately, the deeds can't be revoked." His gaze held mine, pleading to be understood and forgiven which I gladly did.
"It's fine Dad. I guess it's my fate to suffer." My gaze drifted outside with a distant expression on my face. "Sometimes, I wonder why I was born. I am yet to shift. Everyone has a mate. Yet I have none. To crown it all, I am sold off to a crippled prince who I am certain will take out his bedridden frustration on me. I have suffered more than you could ever envision."
His hand soothingly held mine, offering comfort. Maybe this was what it felt like in Alaska. I couldn't help but wish we were still living in the remote part of Philadelphia.
"It will be fine. Anyway, how prepared are you for the moon festival? You might shift on that night. Are you really prepared for the pain?"
His question had me thinking. The moon festival was only celebrated during the full moon. On that day, Omega tends to feel their mate bond. The individual tends to shift and some tend to receive a mystical power.
I didn't know where exactly I would fall under. I wanted shifting so I could find my own mate but at the same time, I dreaded it. The pains were not encouraging.
"No. I am not but hopefully, I should be prepared for it."

It's been four days since that unfortunate incident and the day I was to go meet my husband, Prince Cole. I dreaded this day and constantly wished the earth would swallow me but no, that seems not to be the case.
The alarm rang noisily jolting me out of my dream world. Still relaxed on the bed, I refused to push my lazy ass out of the soft bed. The stream of light reflecting in my room reminded me of today's activities.
"b***h! Get your ass off that bed this instant or else! You will be held responsible for whatever action I will take." Seraphina’s voice called from outside. Ignoring her completely, I pulled the duvet higher over my head.
I didn't know when sleep took over but the loud banging on the door roused me completely.
"If I break this door and catch you inside, sorry will be your name. b***h! Open this damn door."
With a sigh, I opened the door slightly, shooting my face to whoever was at the door.
"So you have been sleeping till this time? You are such a lazy ass b***h. Now get dressed and come downstairs in less than five minutes or else, prepare to bear the repercussions of your actions." I felt the hatred in her eyes dig deep into my skin.
"I will only come out when I am fully prepared. Other than that, you won't be seeing my break light." I retorted.
Seraphina smiled, forcing me to contemplate her next ploy. "It's your choice. I heard Prince Cole doesn't like wasting time. He is always on time. Besides, the repercussions of keeping him waiting had never been friendly. Something about starving her and beating the person with a black belt. I believe you won't want to be flogged like an animal." She winked at me. "The choice is yours. Whatever you do, doesn't bother me as you will be held responsible for it."
She stormed out. My face grimaced as though I just saw a ghost. The latest information sent fear down my spine. My heart palpitated wildly as I imagine being wiped by an obnoxious crippled Prince.
I couldn't afford to let that happen so I did what was instructed. I hastily bang into the restroom for my necessity. Satisfied, I picked out a bluish gown that clearly outlined my curves and straight legs.
"Hey, you are done in there?"
"Yes, Dad. Do come in." I invited while packing my needed items. My gaze sobered as I stared at my room. The memories will continuously taut me.
"You look good on that!" He complimented, then advised. "Get a coat, in case it rains." Fidgeting with his nails, Johnny stared up at me. "I have a secret to share with you."
My curiosity rose to its highest peak as I stared encouragingly at Johnny to spill the beans.
"Prince Cole isn't crippled like everyone presumed. He is faking it!"
