Chapter Seventeen Trent climbed over the gate into the wrecker’s yard. There was no-one around. Northfield Auto Wreckers was on the edge of an industrial estate housing a range of businesses servicing the motor trade. He pressed the button that lit up the numbers on his watch and checked the time. Metropolitan’s security patrol wouldn’t be checking the yard for another hour but, although he intended to be long gone by then, he couldn’t stop feeling nervous about being discovered by one of his workmates. He walked into the darkness away from the gate, counting the rows of twisted and mangled car bodies awaiting their transformation into blocks of metal by the giant crusher at the far end of the yard, until he arrived at the fifth row.
