It’s what has been playing in my mind since Malachi’s offer. With that, stepping away from this town would be easier. We don’t have to constantly worry that Darius might find us again.
It wouldn’t be permanent, of course. We wouldn’t abuse his kindness, but simply a temporary refuge while we settled in the city. It wouldn’t be easy, either. In such a short time, all of us have already built a life in Alryn, while I’ve been working here for a while. It was easier to make a living in a small town, but it wasn’t the same in the city.
