THALIA
The air felt heavier the closer the moon reached its peak. We had already reached the unclaimed land Rael and Earl had scouted days ago. It was a stretch of forest tucked between industrial outskirts and a surprisingly clean riverbed, far enough from residential areas to avoid attention but still close enough to retreat if something went wrong. Most of the pack had already shifted, unable to resist the pull any longer.
My senses are sharp, and I could feel the same pull, but I was still sitting on the ground, leaning on a huge tree and staring at nothing.
I hadn’t realized how long I’d been zoning out until Bella’s gray wolf sprinted past me in a blur, chasing Gino’s darker form through the trees. Their playful growls echoed briefly before fading back into the forest.
