I pulled Celeste away from the pack house. My grip around her arm tightened as I steered us toward the back path. My strides only went faster, angry and barely controlled.
As we reached outside, we were already welcomed with questioning looks. We just survived an attack from another pack that wanted revenge for the death of some of their pack members the last time the hunters attacked. We weren’t exactly prepared, but I had already anticipated the backlash.
I momentarily roamed my eyes around the place. Everything was still in disarray. The doctors and healers are moving wounded pack members, a lot of things are broken all around us, and the scent of blood mixed with burnt earth as they have tried to burn the place down as retaliation.
