Morning came soon enough, and despite not having much decent sleep thanks to that awful nightmare, I’m still more than eager to start the day and get away from this place as soon as possible.
Breakfast just ended, a little awkward when I asked Mira what I could help with in preparing the meal, and she just ignored me, but it quickly passed. The cabin buzzed with quiet chatter, simply busy preparing to leave.
I double-checked my things. There wasn’t a lot, as I wasn’t even prepared for this at all and was just lucky I got spare clothes in the car, which I really hope are still there where I left them. I just had to make sure not to leave anything our pursuers can use to track us, especially me. If Darius catches my scent, it will be dangerous.
