“Thanks for taking Jacob for a while” I said, walking into Mum and Dad's room with Chelsea still wrapped in my arms.
“What’s the matter, Chelsea?” Mum asked, looking at Chelsea’s tear-ridden face as Jacob ran up to her, putting his little arms around her leg.
“Dad, who was my mum mated to?” Chelsea asked, sitting down on the sofa as Jacob climbed onto her lap.
“That’s a question for your mother” he answered, trying to dodge answering the question.
“I’m asking you”, she hissed as Dad took a step back to glance at us. He let out a long sigh before sitting down opposite us.
