Could It Be Scripted

Beatrice POV “You need a bride, as the alpha, for the ceremony to be complete, which is what we did. If we hadn't done that, this pack would be history, and I would leave to regret every bit of it. I'm not going to let something like that unfold while I'm alive…” Caprino yelled angrily. Wesley then sighed before replying. “Isn't that what you want? And I guess everything is now settled. Now I will leave you the stress of taking care of the bride you have forced me to mark as my mate… I need to take a nap.” After Wesley said this, he sighed, then went upstairs. “Wesley… I'm not yet done with you. Come back here…” Caprino's voice raised again, but Wesley cared less. He continued walking upstairs until his figure became invisible. Caprino then faked a smile before shifting his gaze to me. “Sorry, dear, sometimes he behaves this way, but he really cares. I will let the servants take you to your room. I can't make you stay in the same room with him, hehe. Who knows, he might even kill you at night.” Yes, of course, it was obvious that Wesley might strangle me to death at night while I sleep. And Caprino already knew of that, so for my safety, he thought it smart to offer me a different room space. Part of the reason my family had chosen my sister, who ended up being me, for this ceremony of a thing was because, as the Beta children, it is said that we have a strong wolf within us, which makes us the perfect match to be a mate for the alpha to be able to make the pack stand strong. Though our pack was in Hiddings. Away from the humans. But that doesn't stop us from rolling outside the ordinary world. We own many businesses and companies around the city, like the way Caprino does. And among this, we have the rivalry pack, which wanted to take away the opportunity we have among the wealthy in the city. They are called the Dark Ring Mafia. Kamela gently held me by the cheek before tugging it playfully. She then looked at Capriono. “Don't worry, honey, I will take her to her room myself.” Caprino then sighed before waving his hands dismissively. “Very well, do it your way. I'm already angry about how nonchalant your son is becoming. He well knows we can't let those assholes get hold of this pack; we will lose everything we have built, the wealth, the peace, the…" And just then, Kamala cut into Caprino's panicked voice. “Honey, stay calm, nothing is going to happen, we are all safe, the ceremony is sealed successfully, and the bride will leave in peace and harmony with her husband which will symbolise the stronghold of the pack.” I raised a brow as a sudden thought rose into my mind. “What the hell is she even saying? She fantasises about it like it was easy, not something that I would blend with in time. Mainly looking at that son of hers, I don't think he would ever be a match for me, nor want me.” The thought ran into my mind, and my face was already getting pale and disgusted; disdain could be seen hovering around it. “Beatrice, let's go,” Kamala's soft voice snapped me back, and I immediately pushed out a smile from my lips. We both walked to the room Beatrice had in mind to offer me. She gently pushed the door before we both walked in. The room was looking delicate with a design in a feminist style. And I love it, but I wouldn't let it Lior me yet. Kamala noticed the way I was staring and how my face went pale at the perfect style of the room. “You like it, right?” I settled myself with a slight shudder before facing Kamala, and then I nodded. “Yes, I love it.” Kamala then chuckled with a slight laugh before tugging my cheeks again. “I crafted the style of the design myself and made the constructors bring it to life. I did that just for my son's perfect bride.” I was already getting confused about the entire thing she was saying. Isn't my sister the ideal person to be the alpha's bride? Apart from that, the love Kamela was showing me was absurd and somewhat suspicious. I hope she isn't faking it just to make me feel at home. “So tell me, what's your favourite dress, and I will get it ready for you. I also noticed your gown was torn; sorry about that,” Kamela said with a smile. I looked down before looking up. “Yeah, no problem. It got torn when I was about to get down from the car.” “Ooh, don't worry, I will get another one for you; that's why I'm asking which exactly is your perfect dress.” I smiled, running my hands over my long hair as I replied nervously. “I don't really have a favourite; anything that fits my eye, I go with it.” “Okay, very well, I will get you to choose, maybe someday when we go shopping, but before that, I have stuck some dresses on the Waldrop; you could check for yourself and change into nightwear so your sleep could be more enticing, alright?” Kamala tugged my cheeks again before walking out of the room and shutting the door. I blinked, trying to imagine if this love was actually scripted or natural, or if they could be using this to lure me into staying in the forced marriage as a bride for her heartless son. I gasped, then walked over to the wardrobe and opened it. Though the clothes fit ok, they were precisely my size, as if I had been measured before they were delivered. Not only that, but I got into a nightdress and fell into bed. Usually, I read books before falling asleep. One of my favourites was Dracula at Night's Dawn. The story is based on an ancient real event which occurred years ago, about a thousand years ago. I became bored because I had no books to read. I had no other option than to pick up my phone and scroll through it like a jobless fool. Likewise, I scroll over my phone for more than an hour, and yet no calls from any of my parents came in. It was as though they had sold me out. f**k them! Soon, my eyes began to feel heavy as sleep slowly took over me… but one thing remained in my mind: why did my wolf suddenly go dormant the moment Wesley marked me, and until now, she hasn't communicated with me? Though soon the thought faded as I finally fell asleep.
