Lexa POV:
I watched as Vince fell down clutching his head. This was another seizure and it now confirmed that I was indeed the cause.
I ran to him and begged. “It’s gonna be good okay, I’m here.” I held his hands as tears formed in my eyes. I had finally found love but I was the problem.
Her didn’t deserve this. We both didn’t.
‘You are an abomination and one I must destroy.’ I heard Vince say.
I turned his face to mine and again noticed that the color of his eyes had changed to black.
‘Vince, it’s me Lexa’. I said
The next motion was too swift to me to react to defend myself as Vince hands went to my throat immediately. Choking me.
‘You are cursed, you are an abomination. Blood, Earth and Moon curses you. You must die.’ He kept saying...as though in a trance.
I kicked and kicked. My vision was blurring out. Vince was too strong or I didn’t even want to fight back.
On the verge of passing out, I muttered “I love you, Vince. You’re the only one I’ve ever felt safe and home with. I forgive you”.
I closed my eyes but then the grip on my throat loosened. My eyes flew open as I took in as much air as I could when Vince caught m e before I fell to the ground.
As soon he put me safely on an arm chair, he backs away from me. I see that his eyes are back to the beautiful grey I know and love. But in them, I saw sadness.
He had also just realized the severity of the curse.
‘I really wanted to kill you. Every thing in me, told me to kill you. To watch you die. I was fighting so hard to get my mind under control, my wolf under control but he won’t listen. I’ve been trying to protect you from others but I’m the real danger to you.’ Vince said with utter disappointment in his voice
Wait a minute. He said “others”.
‘Others? Are there are people after me?’ I said
Just as he was about to answer that.
An explosion was heard. It was coming from the entrance gate to the Mooncliff residence.
We both ran outside, it was already late evening and the sun was down. We saw that the guards had headed towards the gate but just as that happened.
I had the strangest sensation of someone calling out to me. A presence.
‘Vince, CALL THEM BACK. IT’S A DISTRACTION!’ I yelled.
He nodded, ‘I know.’
‘The vampires are attacking us. Lexa, they’re looking for you.’ He said pulling me back inside the cabin.
“F-for me? Why? What did I do?” I said in a panick
“I’ll explain later, but first I need you safe. Stay here, away from the windows. I’ll take care of this. No one must see you, Lexa. Promise me.” Vince said
“No No, what if something happens to you? Let me fight. I’m strong too.” I said
“Your strength has never been in question, my love. I promised to protect you. Let me....” he said
I kissed him with everything in me.
He deepened the kiss and pulled me closer to him.
“I’ll be ba-“ Boom! Another bomb went off. It was Bella’s quarters this time.
Vince looked at me one last time and dashed out.
In a split second, he had transformed to his wolf. The beautiful black beast.
Reese Flint POV:
It was my time for revenge. I had seen Ovaro go round barking orders but one thing he left unguarded was his darling wife, Bella Mooncliff.
The Alpha is the Cliff District pack. She was strong alright but she was an unlikely target. No one would see this coming.
He had planned this for so long, he couldn’t believe all the information he needed to carry out his plan simply fell on his lap.
Blowing up her own quarters was the first step. He needed Ovaro to watch him kill her and leave him to live with that regret of not protecting her all his life.
Just like how he felt for his brother.
Outside was a battle field of wolves and vampires. He knew the fight happening was only a distraction to allow his boss and the witch search for the red-haired girl but he had already claimed his prize.
Bella was knocked out cold as a good part of the roof fell on her. Dragging her body out, her eyes finally opened but she was too weak to fight me. I was able to over power her and drag her outside.
All I had to do wait for Ovaro to catch her scent and I’d slowly cut her throat.
I spotted Ovaro and in a few minutes as he finished off a vampire. He caught wind of her scent.
Spinning around, he saw me now. A smile crept up on my face.
My revenge was here at last!
Lexa POV:
I watched as a vampire dragged out a bleeding Bella. She looked so bad. He must have pulled her out from her apartment that just blew.
Ovaro had seen him but was being careful not to spook him. I could see his jaws clench. Soon after Vince was done with the vampires that were in his path. He saw his sister being held up by her hair and a knife to her throat. A silver knife.
She wouldn’t be able to heal from that. I had to do something. So far, I was the only element of surprise that could save her.
In my head, I said “I’m sorry, Vince”.
I noticed his head spin to the dark cabin I was in as though he heard but it was too late. I ran with everything in me and pulled out the vampire’s heart from his back. His body went limp and fell to the ground.
Ovaro immediately caught Bella and shot me a grateful look. However, Vince was beside me in an instant.
‘Lexa, we need to get you a-‘ he stopped mid sentence as he noticed some movements behind us.
‘Lexa, run!’ Vince said
But before I could move my legs, I was frozen in the spot.
Out of the woods came, a dark woman with black veins pulsating. They were everywhere.
Her hands, her legs, chest and neck. Her hands were outstretched and pointed to my location.
I had never met a witch before but this was definitely one.
