The Cabin in the woods

'Lexa! I've missed you so much. Tell me you missed me too'. Bella said as she pulled Lexa into a hug.

They were finally at the Cliff District and although Bella radiated Alpha energy she was just as warm as sunshine as she hugged Lexa with everything.

Facing her brother Vince, she said 'Have you been feeding her? She's lost some weight? I leave her for a little over a week and all this happens??' she said in a fake pout.

All the guards had arrived in a total of 8 SUVs, it was quite a scene as tall built men and actually a few women stepped out of the vehicles in dark suits doing what you'd call "securing the perimeter".

Lexa was already being pulled by Bella towards the residential area, as much as she loved Bella's company she already missed Vince's hands around her waist and his face in her neck...she enjoyed that gesture more than she admitted.

Sensing how she felt, Vince ended the call he was on and walked slowly towards making sure to show off his impossibly tall build and broad shoulders. 'Ready for all that fun I told you about? I've got a lot planned so you better spend all your free time with Bella now, no one's gonna be seeing much of you in the next few days.' he smirked in an oh so sexy way..

Gulping down and blushing immediately, Lexa bat her lashes playfully at him and said, 'Let's see if you're able to keep up, Mr Big Talk. Their chemistry was unmistakable...a lot of s****l tension had been building up between the both of them and although what the were openly discussing wasn't necessarily s*x. They enjoyed the puns they were currently throwing at each other.

Vince gave her a quick peck on the lips and mentioned he had to ensure some security details were taken care of. 'See you when I get back. Bella, did you tell her we would be in the same apartment?' he said smiling in a way that suggested he knew what the effect of that statement would be on Lexa.

'Oh sure, brother. We already discussed how you intend to ravish her every night during your stay here. Her things have been moved to your apartment as we speak.' Bella retorted.

Red with embarrassment, Lexa was about to speak when both siblings burst into a fit of laughter. She had no choice but to join in. Even Ovaro was laughing.

This really did seem like fun, Vince enjoyed being in the woods. A luxury being one of the most powerful businessman and council leader couldn't afford as often as he'd liked.

Walking off into the Mooncliff personal residence in the District, Bella began to probe Lexa on all that's happened in her absence. They looked like two long lost friends catching up!

Meanwhile in Nevida City. The Vampire Headquarters.

Monty Lerouk stood over the rotting corpse of his former right hand man, Smith. There was only so much the spells from his witch friend could do. Smith was already bound to die. However, they were yet to gather more information about the girl. It was as though she had been imagined by both Smith and the human involved.

'How hard could it be to find a f*****g red head?' He yelled as he smashed his glass of brand against the wall. The witch had confirmed his thoughts, the scratch came from something not entirely wolf nor vampire and this was just as much good news as it was bad news.

'Boss, we've got an update on the Mooncliff family. They all moved to their District home earlier today.' Reese, his other right hand man said. Reese was more strategy than combat, although a quick witted fighter, he was gifted in seeing angles most people didn't. Monty knew there was more this statement so he said 'And?'

Stepping forward, he placed a few photographs on his desk. 'We got these images. I thought you would want to see it.' he said with a satisfied look on his face.

Monty picked up the photograph and soon realized what he was looking at.

A photograph of Vince and a red haired woman entering a car. His hands were around her waist. Other photos showed them in the car that suggested they were intimate.

'Damn him!! So he knew about this all along? He's keeping that she-devil all to himself! Made me look like a goddamn fool.' He yelled, now pacing.

A very calm Reese said, 'We were able to gather intel that proves th-'

'Oh spit it out, Reese.' Monty said annoyed.

'She is Vince's mate.' Reese said in a hurry.

Monty froze. A wicked smile spreading across his face. He had finally found a way to kill two birds with a stone.

'Get the cars and our best team ready. We are making a trip to the woods tomorrow night. In the meantime, get me the witch.' He said.

Reese knew what this meant and it was his intention from the start, he hated the Mooncliff family. It was personal for him, his older brother was killed during a faceoff with one of Vince's men, his Beta, Ovaro Galesworth and this was the perfect payback for the pain he caused his family.'

~ Cliff District, Aria Mooncliff residence ~

Aria's plan was already in motion. She just had to wait. Knowing Monty Lerouk, he would be planning how to storm the Cliff District and take Lexa. It would hurt Vince but he would be alive, she thought. This morning, she had stalled intentionally, faking a flu, which made everyone late but just late enough to ensure the vampire spies heard of their move to the cabins and came to confirm for themselves.

She understood the power play between the vampires and wolves and she had exploited it, leaking the information of the family's transit to the cabins to the vampires.

Lexa would be safe too. A weapon yes, if they were able to have their way with her but at least she and Vince would be separated. She tried to reason with herself.

I'm so sorry, Trish. He's my son.

A knock came on her door. 'Mother, open up it's me.' Bella said

As soon as he door opened, she stormed in. 'How could you?' she said in a disappointed tone.

'You promised to tell us the truth, after Father passed YOU said no more secrets between us but here I hear that you've done nothing to keep that promise.'Bella continued.

'It's not what you think. Bella, I wouldn't keep something of this magnitude from your brother only if I felt I had to.' Aria responded

Another knock came and they both heard the maid announce that dinner was ready.

Sighing, Bella left Aria alone in her room visibly disappointed in her mother. Their family had been through a lot as a result of and since the passing of her father, Damien. Upon his death, a lot had happened and to get through the emotional backlash they received from the werewolf community....sticking together as a family became their biggest weapon but that didn't seem to be in play anymore.

Dinner was awkward. Vince and Lexa sat next to each other, Ovaro and Bella on the other side while Aria sat at the end of the table. No one spoke but the look exchanges spoke volumes.

After a quiet dinner, Vince took Lexa by the hand to their apartment now adorned with white rose petals and lavender plants with candles lit across the pathway to the bedroom.

Lexa was nervous and blushed as soon as she entered the room.
