The Escape

Lexa POV: The Crystal Moon Forest wasn't far from the Lune District where my pack was located, so we all walked. My family went last as the leader of the pack we weren't expected to be there as early as everyone else. By the time I stepped out of the house, nearly everyone had left except Mother and Father, so we all walked together. "The time has come for us to run", my wolf said. I looked at the dress Mother had gotten me and smiled, "So beautiful", I said as we all walked in silence to the heart of the forest. It was dark but energy was unmistakable. So many people had come to celebrate and were dancing under the moonlight, a few glances came my way and I felt myself blush from their stares. I was beautiful after all. Even if no one from my pack recognized this, these ones did! I thought to myself. Mother came to me smiling and dancing, pulled me into the dance with herself and some of her friends from the pack. "You can't find a mate, if you're huddled up in the shadows", she said. I obliged more than happy to be part of the group. As the dancing dwindled, Mother gave me some fresh juice to drink and went her way. As I took the glass to my lips, I felt a strange sensation. Like my body was reacting to something or someone in the crowd. This feeling felt like I was floating, light headed and for a moment I think I saw a man in a suit look my way but it all went black. "Blood" "Moon" "Earth"....."Blood" "Moon" "Earth"... "Wake up, Lexa. It's time to run." "Lexa! Lexa!".. I jolted awake and saw that I was surrounded by the elders of my pack members with my Father & Mother in front row. What were they doing? The chants came back to my ears and then I saw the witch at my feet in time for her to prick my bare feet and take a drop of my blood. I felt me eyes go red. There was anger inside me. I was angry. I wanted to kill them. I was bound to a log of wood and it looked like some form of ritual. Oh no, I wasn't hallucinating after all. I heard them talk about this. Whatever they wanted to do was not good, there were no emotions in their eyes as they eyed me still chanting those three words. I had to get away. I had to run. A surge of strength came as I yanked free from the ropes holding me down and with impossible speed I ran off into the forest. I wasn't loved, whoever these people were. They weren't my family so I ran just like my wolf told me. Not knowing where I was headed, I kept running. I knew they were chasing after me so I kept running but that feeling came back. The one from the festival. Whatever I was reacting to then was here now. I slowed down and looked around, then I saw it. Him. The hairs on my body stood up like some form of energy had just been blast. The entire forest faded out of my eye's vision - all I saw was him. The biggest black wolf I had ever seen, he also had a grey patch of fur on his right eye. Those grey eyes. I walked towards him as he did the same. It seemed like he felt the invincible pull I felt towards him too. My wolf was going nuts, she wanted to come out but couldn't. All I heard loud and so clear was "mate". I had found him, he was here for me. As if he heard me, he transformed to his human form with so much grace. He was beautiful, so perfect and very naked. It took a moment to tear my gaze away as I blushed. He smiled and touched me cheek. My heart leapt. Suddenly I was hit with a wave of his masculine scent..I closed my eyes as I saw him lean over to my neck to breathe me in. His neck on mine..I wanted to explode! I felt him stiffen as he looked behind me. It occurred to me, I was running away from my family. He changed back to his wolf and stood in front of me shielding me as he waited for my pursuers to appear.  He saw them and looked to me, somehow he read the hurt and betrayal on my face and knew that these people were from my pack, my family. He stood there still and waited for someone to make a move which they did. Were they blind? Couldn't they see that he was absolutely impossible to defeat? He tore into their flesh like a fresh pair of scissors against fabric. I had to look away. He let out a terrifying growl and soon I heard responses. His pack was nearby. They were coming.  Sensing danger and possible defeat for her pack, Mother called out to me and asked me to come back home and she would explain everything. No, I couldn't, not with what I just saw that they had wanted to do to me. She begged again, "You are my only daughter. You misunderstand what we were doing. I love you." I didn't move. She suddenly spat close to my feet and growled in anger, "We feed you, clothe you and now it's time to pay us back you runaway to an unknown man because you think he's your mate. He'll use you and abandon you as he sees who you truly are", she hissed. I wanted to runaway and cry somewhere but I was glued to the grounds beneath me, my wolf couldn't come out but she could stop me from moving. His pack members began to arrive and soon the Kala Moon pack were outnumbered, knowing how averse Father was to bloodshed. He mind linked the pack and so they retreated. I was here alone with my mate and his pack. I didn't even know his name. I faced him and asked "What's your name?" Vince POV:  My wolf had never been so ready to kill or die for anyone before. That saying of how love consumes you became a reality to me. I didn't know her but I knew  I loved her. After ensuring the other pack had completely retreated. I think heard her speak to me, I was too distracted by her face and how her energy was radiating off of me. "What's your name?" I heard her say. "Vince. Vince Mooncliff". I said. "What's yours?"  Ovaro had brought back my suit so I quickly dressed as I asked for her name. "Lexa, My name is Lexa Sinclair, Alpha." she said..suddenly looking don and not meeting my  eyes. She must ave recognized who I was from my name. Immediately, I rushed to her and held her hands, "Don't call e Alpha". Call me anything but that. I am not an Alpha to you.  I said these as I lifted her chin to look me in the eye. F**k I was dumbstruck. Her eyes...blue as the night sky with a splash of faint red right under her pupils. How was she this beautiful?? How was I lucky to have such a person as my mate? "What should I call you?, she asked still timid "Call me Vince". You are my mate, my destiny..and I have been waiting for you for a long time. What happened next took my breath away. She hugged me with so much fierceness, I hugged her back and proceeded to carrying her. We walked in comfortable silence back to the festival grounds, Ovaro got Mother and Bella who rushed to my side as soon as they saw that I was carrying a woman. Mother spoke first, "Who is she?"  I could see how worried she was, so I said, "She is my mate, she was in danger but I was able to get to her in time." Mother's eyes glistened with unshed tears so did Bella's. Sensing she was in the presence of my family, I felt Lexa stir and get out of my arms. I missed her already, the way her body felt against mine..her head buried in the croon of my neck. She immediately greeted my mother and sister with a faint smile on her face. "Your son is an amazing man, he rescued me before he even knew who I was. Thank you for raising him in such a way." Lexa said. Mother wrapped her in a big hug, so did Bella. As soon as my Mother pulled back and looked into Lexa's eyes, her smile faltered a little, rather unnoticably but I saw it. Something was wrong. But she soon covered it up as she and Bella led Lexa away into the car while I gave out orders to find out what really happened at the east side of the forest. They dispersed quickly and I turned back to the car. I didn't want Lexa out of my sight for a minute. So I started off towards the car, then a piercing headache broke out and I doubled over. It felt like a clash of signals jamming in my head. I looked up and saw Lexa rush out the car to my side and as soon as she got to me and touched my face. There was no more pain. She made everything better, it would seem. My mate was a miracle.  Without thinking, I pulled her in and kissed her right there in the presence of everyone. She responded instantly, wrapped her hands around my neck and kissed me back passionately. I felt it deep down that we had both been waiting for each other and now that we had found one another, nothing was getting in our way. We belonged together. After a few moments, Ovaro cleared his throat awkwardly and grinned widely at Lexa and introduced himself. "Luna, my name is Ovaro. We have been dying to meet you. Literally."  He winked at her and looked right at me. Lexa chuckled and responded politely while I glared at him. We got into the car and left for Nevida. I sat right next to Lexa, holding her hand like she would disappear soon. Nothing would ever hurt her. I would die first. So we drove on to Nevida city. Lexa POV:  I have only met him for an hour and I feel this way. That kiss. I looked his way as the car drove past the only place I've ever known and found him staring at me as though trying to read my mind. I found myself blushing and so I quickly turned away, he smiled. At the corner of my eye, I saw his mother looking at us, with a look of worry and possibly fear.  As soon as our eyes met, her lips curved into a smile instead.  I smiled back and faced the window....What awaits me in Nevida city? I wondered.
