Chapter 4 The coach carrying Lizzy and Georgiana made good time. Until, that is, they reached Brighton proper. Then, they slowed to a walking pace. Pleasure seekers in barouches and curricles clogged the streets. Every moment, Lizzy worried that Georgiana would spot her relations amongst the crowd. The girl began to fidget as if growing unsure. “Is Colonel Forster’s residence far?” “I wish I knew.
