Weston's pov The search for Penelope would have taken much longer if Owen wasn't crazy, and Huxley's eyes weren't like trackers. It led us to a spot between the trees and Remy could pick up the scent of a foreign male. The tracks should have disappeared there, but Huxley swore he could still see footprints that belonged to the same person. That same bird. So we followed his steps, while Owen did a personal search. When I got the call from Owen that he located the bird, I thought 'this is it. We're close to Penelope.' turns out we were slightly off. The bird happened to be one of the dark magic ones that fade away as soon as their owner thinks of calling them. And that was precisely what happened.
