[CYBELE'S POV]
The welcoming banner that was handwritten by him was very heartfelt that my smile was ear to ear. HE was of resident of Egypt, but we have been to different place together; he was my first love. We were highschool sweethearts in which our bond was decades ago, our relationship went solid when he first started showing subtle signs of him showing his affection and kindness. And it was very endearing to see him. As he was with flowers and his friends. I love that thoughtful side of him.
He was always so considerate and loving towards me all the time. It was over the edge and a tad bit overwhelming. But that's love, I guess. It was its mysterious ways of showing it may it be intimate or just simply the small sentimental things that are purchased with thought and value. Daphne found it very his expression very cheesy and cringy that she made an eye roll gesture. But I giggled and ran to embrace him like I haven't held him for so long. As I held the flowers in my hands when he gave them.
I kissed him with both of my hands on his face. He returned it by kissing me back. The feeling was like we were back in high school I answered him. I remembered the joy in his face it was exhilarating. I felt the blood rush to my cheeks as I look to him shyly and he lifted me up from the ground and spun me to express his excitement and happiness that I gave him. It felt good, cause I too loved him so much but was too anxious about whether he too would have the same feelings as me. In which he had, and I thank the gods that he has., his friends felt uncomfortable at the love scene that they had witnessed that all the audience stared at us and giggled like Ismael just went to war, and we have been separated from each other by force. It was too overly dramatic like we were filming a movie and we were the star-crossed lovers that have once reunited. Ismael and I felt the embarrassment with everyone eye's on us, so he put me down. And smiled shyly as he scratched his head in beet red.
"Let's get out of here." I whispered to him. He smiled and nodded, and soon everyone was back to their business. For a moment I was so red that Daphne kept holding her laughter till we got to the car. As everyone bursted out laughing at us. As their contagious laughter made us recall our action as we joined him in glee. It was very nice to be with him. As we held hands in the passenger seat at the front. I clenched him as he drove us to his big spacious apartment. Since he was a native, he could easily get a residence there.
I was worried. That we were to live in a hotel if he didn't find a place to stay. But everything is put to ease knowing that he has one. But I am skeptical about the cost of it, though. But then I saw his friends had rooms of their own, so I assumed they occupied them and shared in the bill of everything. I asked him about the details of our project. The expedition, if so, may say. But I refer to it as a 'project'

The next day, my fiancee gave us a ride to the site. In where the other workers that were also digging in search of 'golden piece of history'. It was precious that we find something. As the blazing sun of Rah wasn't in agreement. That It was so boiling, I felt the degrees getting hotter as I wore more clothing to let it not penetrate my sensitive skin. Me and Daphne applied SPF 100+++ pa to counteract the rays of the morning star. As Ismael was sweating bullets trying to discuss on how we will enter the pyramid.
"So this is how it's going to be we enter the pyramid, through this route. It is a narrow passage, but it has the safest entry among all the others. "
"Others? You mean to say there are booby traps?"
"We are uncertain that there are. But it is good to be cautious, then sorry."
"He has a point."
As everyone came into agreement, Ismael and I entered the narrow path and then split up in two groups to cover more ground. But be extra careful not to step on anything. It was said to be a sacred ground.
The trip to the narrow entrance was not of the most pleasant as, one by one, we had to move sideways to even fit through. But who am I to complain? At least we got in safely. Plus, my fiancee Ismael was right, we can't afford to be too careless with our footing. It was pitch dark as Daphne lit up a match to a deft word piece in a makeshift torch to see our path. Ismael's men did the same, since the wood was plentiful in the tomb, so we helped ourselves to light up torches to illuminate the path. We saw the expected cross ways.
"Ok, this is where we split our ways. Cy, babe. You go that way as I take this path" as he pointed his torch to the path he is taking. I kissed him one last time, for I was really worried. Cause I had one of those bad pit feelings when something unexpected and terrible might happen. That gut feeling that I hate the most. He kissed me back since he also knew that I cared for his safety more than this trip. And I separate and looked back at him. He did it too.
"Ismael, we meet back here if anything bad happens.Okay?"
He nodded, as we went our way to different paths. I had a bad feeling that someting bad was about to happen.
