Prologue

“Eons ago, with the great wisdom from our Mother Cosmos, we wove the cosmos into its shape. Each of us breathed and molded our own worlds, planets that represents our own identity and nature. Lyridia, our eldest sister, breathe life into her green forest planet. Aurenthir, our second eldest brother, blew ice and winter into creating his own frosty planet. Korgath, the third brother, hammered his metal planet, where his giants lived in strength. Volkar, the fourth, forged his fiery planet from his endless fire and ash. Nymaris, my mermaid sister, poured her graceful waters and crafted her own realm underneath the vast currents of ocean. Zephyros, my fifth brother, wove the gravity and build his own planet where there’s no solid ground, except for floating lands and mountains. As for me, I danced with the sand and shape my desert planet filled with vast dunes and endless horizons. Then there’s our youngest brother, Aelion. When the rest of us crafted our planets with natural resources, Aelion built his planet with cold lights, endless data where everything was calculated, controlled and stored. For ages, he labored in silence, constructing a network of energy he called “Unified Frequency”. Our siblings were already dancing in harmony with their own creations, yet Aelion felt our family still needs more connection. “You see this?” he purred with that sweet smile that I always see in his face. For being the only sister that understood Aelion’s heart beneath that coded nature of his, I understood everything he’s doing. “This is my gift for you all.” He added. “This core is the main outlet, then these wires are going to connect to each planet you guys created. The core energy of each planet will flow through these wires and connect with each other, so we can all connect with the other planets’ energy. It’s called “Unified Frequency”, because it will unify all of us through this center core I created.” Aelion explained with enthusiasm. His words hung in the hall, heavy yet hopeful. I know the truth behind it, yet our siblings saw no unity or connection in Aelion—only a clear, arrogant declaration that his project is intended to place his own creation at the center of everything we had created. Our brothers and sisters didn’t accept his proposition with warm heart, only suspicion and doubt that Aelion was doing this not for connection, but to conquer control. I saw everything… From the hopeful eyes of Aelion which slowly turn cold, to the heartless words my other siblings muttered that crushed our youngest brother’s heart…even mine too. “Aelion…” I whispered to my brother to comfort him but Aurenthir pulled me away from him leaving him shattered and in pain. Even though Aelion’s not good with expressing his real intentions, I refused to believe he was truly wicked. I pulled away from Aurenthir’s grip and cried, “No, please, wait!” My voice ringing across the empty hall. “He’s our brother, please understand! Perhaps he speaks harshly, hiding his intention under that colorless tone of his, but I know there’s more to what he’s offering to you! Just hear him out!” I defended Aelion as much as I can cry out. Nymaris rose from her seat, cold and sharp. “Did you not hear what he just said, Zahara? He said he will unify all our creations through that core he created! Doesn’t it sound like a selfish creation out of his greed for control?” I shake my head, refusing their voices. “No, Nymaris! That is not what his creation is about!” “Do not involve yourself more in this, Zahara. We’ll take care of this.” Zephyros spoke last before he pushed me aside far from them using his strong winds. “We’ll protect our own creations, no matter the cost. Aelion’s network wires will never touch our planets.” I tried to stop them, but Zephyros’ winds held me tightly down. I pleaded them, yet my screams seem voiceless to my siblings. My six siblings used their own powers to shatter Aelion’s core, which he built using his own power core. “NO!!!” Aelion screamed. Aelion’s “Unified Frequency” shattered into billions of fading sparks, drifting away into the dark. My youngest brother stood amidst the debris; silence covered the hall for a few minutes. Then a cold smirk left his face, his eyes burning with unreadable fury. He did not look sad, nor surprised. He glances at me with soft eyes before it disappeared as he turns around and vanished back to his own created planet. And in his absence, we all drifted apart, retreating to our separate corners of existence, divided forever by a tragedy born of doubt and fear that even our great mother Cosmos cannot restore. Before…… the stars danced in harmony together with the planets that we created. Now, they're just existing with a void so vast and silence so loud.”
