A Terrible Fight and a Carousel Ride

Elizabeth woke up the next morning with a bright smile on her face. In fact, she hadn't stopped smiling since she had gotten back the night before. As she turned away from the wall she felt something heavy on her legs. As opened her eyes she saw Teresa sitting on top of her "morning Teresa! Lovely day isn't it?" She said, still smiling brightly. Teresa raised an eyebrow and tilted her head "E, it's been raining all morning, in fact it's plothering down right now" she said in a small voice. Elizabeth sighed dreamily "oh I think it's positively glorious" "E, what happened last night that could possibly make you sound so sappy?" Teresa asked curiously. Elizabeth giggled "he kissed me Teresa, oh he kissed me so sweetly and now I feel as if my whole world finally has meaning" Teresa rolled her eyes "God you sound like a terrible chick flick right now, so cheesy and mushy". Elizabeth sat up and crossed her arms "oh shut it" Teresa giggled in response and jumped up "oh come on, we have to get ready for class". Elizabeth simply rolled her eyes and got out of bed, her smile soon returning to her face.

By the time breakfast was over and the girls were on their way to class the rain had stopped and sunshine was starting to break its way through the cloudy sky. The two friends entered Mr. Terrence's class all smiles and giggles as they whispered inside jokes back and forth to each other. They were laughing fairly hard when they both stopped quite suddenly. For, standing in front of them was a very red and very angry Alexis. She stomped towards them, her usually pretty face contorted and twisted into something quite fierce "how DARE you kiss him!?" She shrieked, making the girls jump in shock. Elizabeth tilted her head "what on earth are you blabbering about?" "WILLIAM! You kissed him! I know you did, Anna saw you do it last night in the park!" Alexis yelled her face growing a deeper shade of red with every word she spoke. Elizabeth's eyes widened "he kissed me! Just because I like him doesn't mean I'm gonna make the first move!" She said as she crossed her arms. Alexis screeched again "you liar! You knew we were together and you kissed him anyway you b***h!" She was currently being held back by her friends and she was quite a sight. Suddenly the girls holding her back lost their grip and Alexis grabbed Elizabeth by the arm.

As Elizabeth tried to get out of Alexis' grip she stepped on a metal water bottle with the top of her pointe shoe, rolled her ankle, and screamed in pain before falling over. As she laid there on the ground holding her ankle Teresa ran to her as Alexis was taken hold of by her friends again. When Mr. Terrence entered there was quite a sight to see. Elizabeth was sitting on the floor with tears in her eyes as Teresa inspected her ankle while Alexis was screaming in the corner. Mr. Terrence went over to the two girls on the floor first "what happened!?" He asked, his eyes filled with worry. Teresa jumped at his sudden arrival but calmed down enough to speak "long story short? William kissed Elizabeth last night, Alexis got pissed off, and just now she basically attacked E and I think she broke her ankle" Mr. Terrence sighed and turned "Cooper! Please carry Elizabeth out and take her to the hospital to get an X-Ray on her ankle, Teresa, you go with them. And as for you young lady" he turned to his daughter "you are not only grounded but I'm gonna have to bring this up with the director which may end in expulsion for you" as soon as the words left his mouth Alexis began wailing even louder than before.Cooper ran over to the girls and carefully scooped up Elizabeth "don't worry E, you're gonna be alright" he said as he and Teresa walked out.

Later that evening Elizabeth sat on a balcony and stared at the stars. She hadn't broken her ankle but she had sprained it pretty bad and the doctor had asked her to use crutches for about a week. She jumped when she heard the balcony doors open and close but sighsd in relief when she saw it was only William "I suppose you heard what happened this morning?" She asked, he nodded and chuckled lightly "I think the whole school knows love". She sighed as he sat next to her on the small bench "of course they do" she said as she placed her head on his shoulder. He sighed "I'm sorry about Alexis, we broke up months before you even got here, she's just sensitive is all, extremely sensitive" the way he stated this caused Elizabeth to produce the faintest laugh. William took her hand and smiled "I wanna take you somewhere but no questions cause It's a surprise" "oh all right'' she said as he helped her up.

After what seemed like forever to her they finally arrived at a park. She tilted her head as he helped her out of the taxi and shut the door. He smiled and shook his head "no questions, remember?" She smiled and nodded. They walked in silence through the park till they heard the faint sound of laughter and saw a small light a bit away. As they neared the light she heard music and her eyes lit up "is that a carnival!?" She asked with excitement. He laughed "what happened to no questions? Well now that you've askes, yes, it is. I thought it might cheer you up" he said happily.

They bought their tickets and he led her to the edged of the carnival where there was a little carousel by the pond. He gave the carni the tickets and helped Elizabeth to one of the benches. They sat there holding hands as they went in circles, listening to the carnival music and watching the stars.

William smiled and gave her hand a small squeeze "Elizabeth, there's something I'd like to ask you" he said in a soft voice "yes Will?" She said as she rested her head on his shoulder. He took a deep breath "Elizabeth, would you like to be my girlfriend?" She smiled and closed her eyes as she nodded "yes Will, I would love to". He put his head on top of hers and smiled as he heard her softly snoring, she had fallen asleep. He carefully lifted her into his arms and found a taxi, gently setting her down and buckling her before taking her back to her dorm.
