As Elizabeth stepped off the plane she looked around and spotted a skinny girl with long black hair and a happy smile holding a sign with Elizabeth's name on it. She walked over to the smiling girl and greeted her "hi, I'm Elizabeth, you must be Kasey" she said to the skinny girl "I am, I'll be giving you a tour of London and then showing you where you'll be practicing and staying while you're with us. I'm also one of your fellow dancers" the girl said as she walked towards a snack bar. She went up to the counter and bought a couple of juices, offering one to Elizabeth "oh in a minute, but first, where is the bathroom?" Elizabeth asked, Kasey gave her the directions and off she went.
After using the bathroom and washing her hands Elizabeth started walking back to where Kasey was. She looked down at her watch for half a second and ended up accidentally running into someone "I am so sorry" she said as she picked up the book the boy had dropped "it's okay, it was more my fault than yours anyways" he said as he took his book back. Elizabeth looked up to see a beautiful pair of green eyes, like the color of the sea on a sunny day "I'm sorry to have caused you any trouble, I'm Will" the boy said, offering Elizabeth hjs hand snapping her out of her trance "oh I'm Elizabeth, but you can call me Lizzie" she sakd , shaking his hand "you aren't from around here are you?" He asked, his British accent thick "no I'm from the US actually" she told him "well if you ever need a guide, here's my number, give me a call" he said as he handed her a card with his number on it "I'll do that" she answered as she smiled "well I should go, nice meeting you Lizzie" he said as he gave her warm smile "you to Will" she said.
The two parted ways and as Elizabeth walked back over to Kasey she noticed the girl had a funny look on her face. She took her juice from Kasey who gave her a questioning look "what?" She said as she sipped her juice "who was that?" Kasey asked "someone I accidentally ran into" Elizabeth said "alright, now come on, it's time for sightseeing!" Kasey said excitedly as she dragged Elizabeth out to a car. As they toured London Kasey not only showed Lizzie the monuments and touristy spots, but she also showed her some cute little tucked away coffee shops and bakeries. As they finished their tour Elizabeth kept bouncing in her seat, they had just arrived at their second to last stop. The Royal Opera House. As they explored the opera house Kasey explained that this would be where most of their performances would be.
As they got back in the car and started towards the royal ballet school Kasey to!d Elizabeth all about how nice everyone was and how awesome the teachers and choreographers were. When they finally arrived Kasey helped Elizabeth get her bags out of the trunk. As they walked through thee halls and to the dorms Elizabeth took her chance to peek into some class rooms and get a small look at the dancers. They all looked so intimidating yet beautiful, stiff yet flowy and graceful, things only a true dancer can do. They finally arrived at the dorms and Kasey showed Elizabeth to her room and showed her her bed. They set Elizabeth's bags on her bed and opened the curtains "well Lizzie, this is where I leave you. You should get your schedule tomorrow though" Kasey said "wait who does the other bed belong to?" Lizzie asked "Teresa Williams, she's a feisty one, bit of a rebel, but you'll like her" Kasey said. The girls said their good byes and Kasey left. As Lizzie unpacked her beds she heard the door open "who are you and what are you doing in my room?"
Lizzie turned around to see a girl about her age who did not look happy "I'm Elizabeth, I'm new here" Lizzie said shyly "and i don't really care at the moment, why are you in my room?" The girl asked "because I was told that this is also my room" Lizzie said quietly, this new girl intimidated her quite a bit. She was about 5'7", 5 inches taller than Lizzie, skinny, long silky black hair, and pale. The perfect ballerina, at least according to George Balanchine.
The girl waved her hand in front of Lizzie's face, snapping her out of her day dream "huh? Did you say something?" Lizzie asked "yeah, I said if we're gonna be roommates we might as well get to know each other" the girl said "oh, yeah I guess you're right" Lizzie said thoughtfully "I'm Teresa by the way, and I guess it's nice to meet you Lizzie. Welcome to The Royal Ballet school of well, Ballet" the girl, Teresa said.
Lizzie smiled warmly "it's nice to meet you to Teresa, would you mind helping me unpack a little?" She asked, Teresa returned the smile and nodded. She unzipped a suitcase full of leotards "dang girl! How many leos do you own??" Teresa asked as she placed each one carefully in a drawer, Lizzie laughed " a lot, my mum gives me a new one for each holiday" she said "EVERY holiday?" Teresa asked "every single one" Lizzie responded.
As the girls continued unpacking they told each other stories of when they were younger, their first nutcrackers, and special little moments like that.
Lizzie finally unzipped the last suitcase, revealing a pair of pointe shoes and a fluffy pink tutu "it's beautiful" Teresa said as she softly touched the tutu, Lizzie smiled sadly "it was my first real tutu, my grandmother gave it to me right before she passed away, it was hers when she was younger" she said, tears threatening her eyes "I'm sorry, that's sad but it really is a beautiful tutu. What about the shoes?" Teresa asked "they were my first pair" Lizzie said as she hung the tutu and the shoes on a hook just above her bed.
After talking for awhile the girls discovered that they had more in common then just ballet. They both enjoyed photography, baking, painting, and friendly competition. When they noticed how late it was getting they changed into their pajamas and got into their beds. Just before the lights went out Lizzie turned to face Teresa "we're gonna be good friends aren't we?" She asked "no, not good friends, best friends" Teresa responded with a smile. Suddenly the lights were turned off and the girls giggled quietly, both knowing that they had just made a friend for life.
