Violet's POV
The worst that could happen has happened.
I've faced the Pack elders, met his mother and Rose, but they all apologized. I wasn't in any danger. As much as I didn't want to admit, Kane had done a good job whether they were for selfish reasons or not.
For the next three days while we'd be at the pack, my safety was guaranteed. I wished I could meet Silus and tell him there was nothing to worry about.
So when night fell, I didn't sleep. He could only come out at night. "On conscious nights," he'd said, and since I wasn't sure how to translate that, my only option was to stay up.
"You're really exhausting, do you know that?" Kane said as he pulled the duvet over his chest and turned off the bed lamp.
I raised my eyebrows and clenched my fist. "What do you mean?"
