The courtroom was abuzz with anticipation as Sapphira took her seat, her eyes locking onto Jake's figure as he conferred with his team. The air was thick with tension, the weight of the trial's outcome hanging precariously in the balance. The judge entered, and the proceedings began. Sapphira's focus narrowed as she listened to the prosecution's first witness, her mind racing with potential questions and strategies. Jake's eyes met hers, a flicker of amusement dancing in their depths. As the cross-examination began, Sapphira was a force to be reckoned with, her questions precise and calculated. Jake, however, was not one to back down, his responses laced with a subtle challenge. The battle of wits had begun, each side trading verbal blows.
