Lorna did not hide her smile. 'Do you wish me to chaperone you?' She teased. 'It might be best.' 'You will not!' Margaret's hot reply amused the clerk. 'I am perfectly capable of handling William alone.' 'As you wish,' Lorna said as Margaret paused in front of the mirror to adjust her hair and tug at her dress. 'He won't expect you to be in all your finery. Go as you are and he'll be all the more pleased that you did not keep him waiting.' 'But my hair…' 'Your hair is beautiful!
