Chapter Sixteen'Margaret!' Lorna shook her awake, 'they're moving.' They lay in a slight hollow underneath a bush with the call of an owl echoing and the dew forming on their clothes. 'What?' Margaret opened bleary eyes, 'sorry, I must have fallen asleep.' 'The Chosen Girls,' Lorna reminded. 'They're leaving the school.' 'It's still dark,' Margaret huddled into her coat collar. 'I'm glad I was never one of the Chosen Girls. What do they mean by making the poor souls get up at this hour of the morning? That's just cruel hard.'
