Jayden woke up to a beeping sound erupting from his phone. Wondering who the caller was, he rolled over, picked the phone and was shocked to see the caller ID.
"Hello mum" He says as he struggled to sit up while rubbing his eyes
"Good evening to you too son, it's been ages."
"Yeah, actually. I've been quite busy."
"The last time I checked, you work like a workaholic for a living young man. I hope you are fine."
"I'm fine. How are you doing and how is home?" He replied.
"I'm very well thank you. Home is just the way you left it."
"Quick one; I hope you remember that the birthday bash is coming up in the next two weeks."
"Really?"
"I don't want no excuses son, make sure you are available*
"Okay mum, will try"
"Have you spoken to your sister recently?" She asked.
" Well, it's been a while." Jayden replied.
"So typical of you. Make sure you reach out to her soon."
"Okay mum."
"Have a great night's rest son."
"Take care mum, be good."

Time check 9:30pm.
What a stressful day he had today. His mind drifted back to Anita. She was such an intriguing lady and he found her interesting. From her seemingly innocent eyes to her almost blank facial expressions and her full fledged laughter that is so contagious. She had this confidence radiating over her and with the way she speaks and gesticulates, one can tell that she is really charismatic.
'I guess I would love to hangout with her pretty soon' He said out loud as he proceeded to freshen up and step out. His long overdue hangout with his best friend is happening tonight and he knows Donald would not forgive him if he cancels.
The drive to the lounge was quite short as he vibed to the music from his favorite playlist.
Jayden Brooks - the renowned Doctor and business tycoon with records of several businesses across the country. One would wonder how he is able to balance being a medical practitioner and handling business as a CEO. However, this is one of his numerous super powers that the media is yet to lay a hold on. To make his schedule easy, he is an occasional Doctor and he has a stipulated time within the year where he is active in the field. As someone who is a professional and expert, he is almost always sought across the country for his exceptional medical services.
Whenever he is not a medical practitioner, he is working or talking to his assistants or best friend about business. The world of business is more like a piece of cake to him, especially because he has gained mastery over the years. For someone who had to push himself to work at a very young age, he has done so well for himself as a successful businessman. One of his numerous setups is Bristo Lounge, the venue for his hangout with his best friend.

Sitting down across Donald at the lounge bar, Jayden occasionally sipped wine as he listened to his friend talk about the new business proposal for the upcoming jewelry project.
"I think we need to work on getting more models so we don't get short staffed along the line. Donald said to a seemingly absent minded Jayden who just replied with a nod.
"Also, the marketing department needs to up their game. I skimmed through the proposed brand launch strategy and I wasn't so impressed. I mean it's a jewelry brand, a very catchy ad. would be required." Donald reiterated
"I think our target audience would determine the type of advertisement we'll pull up. Let's not forget that." Jayden explained.
"Exactly, you get the point. The target audience is a mixture of young adults, adults and even mature teenagers. The very reason why I gave the manager the task of strategizing again. I should get feedback soon." Donald pointed out.
"How's the company though?" Jayden asked.
Well, the company is doing great. Donald replied.
"What's the update about the goals for this quarter?"
"Super good news; target almost achieved, it's been a very great month I must say."
"That's awesome, cheers man." Jayden said while raising his glass for a glass clink.
"How has work been for you though?" Donald asked.
Work has been fine, pretty hectic lately I must admit. However, I've been pushing.
"That's the spirit man, we have to keep pushing."
"Have you been in touch with fam?" Donald asked
"To be honest, it's not been consistent. Mum even called me today. Guess why she called?" Jayden stated.
"I don't know man, just spill," Donald replied inquisitively.
"The annual birthday bash is here again, in two weeks. I'm pretty sure your mum will get the invite before the week runs out. Jayden explained.
"Oh my god, wow. In that case, I should be expecting a call soon' Donald replied.
"You can say that again."
"How is Brenda?" Jayden asked, changing the subject.
"We broke up last week," Donald said.
Silence.
Stares.
Shock.
"you did what? Wait, what?" Jayden exclaimed in shock.
"yeah, the relationship was beginning to feel like a burden and I could tell that she had already checked out of the ship a while ago actually. So when she said she wanted to call things off, I knew better than to hold onto whatever was left of that ship." Donald replied with a hint of sadness.
"So sorry about that man."
"Thanks man."
"How about you though, any crush in view for the week?" Donald said with a little smirk.
"Actually, there is this girl…"
"Are you for real?" Donald said with his eyes widely open.
"We met at the hospital, she had an appointment with me. So, we had a conversation."
"The spark came in somewhere in between the conversation" Jayden said with a slight smile.
Donald couldn't hide his shock. "Wow. Someone is finally getting out of his cocoon. Awesome, awesome."
"Cheers to that." He said while raising the glass of wine.
