‘Ten more minutes, and we’re there,’ Liam says, smiling at me and squeezing my hand. I love him for this. Since early morning, he’s been trying to keep me going, talking to me, encouraging me, stroking and kissing me, easing my tension, and quite honestly… I don’t think I could do this without him. This morning, in the doorway, before Dylan left for Villains, he said goodbye to me with a hug, which, knowing him, was more than a love confession. He’s not happy about my decision to go to Derby, and the tension was palpable in him, but he didn’t make a scene. He has accepted my decision to get to know this side of my family, with the addition that if they lay a finger on me, the Stanley clan should be ready to have their throats slit by him, one by one.
