‘Are you ready?’ I whisper into her ear. She drops back her head, and planting a kiss on my cheek, nods her yes. Half a year ago, when I found her in front of my house, all her possessions fit into a single rucksack, and by now the amount of her belongings has only grown by a sports bag.
