Chapter 15 — The Grand Reveal

The conference hall buzzed with energy. Today, the board was selecting the next Personal Assistant to the CEO — a position everyone wanted, especially now that Chris had distanced himself from Amelia. Many employees believed she was finished. Tiffany stood in the front row, smiling proudly, acting innocent and confident. She wanted the PA position. She wanted Chris’s attention. And she wanted Amelia gone. Whispers floated around the hall: “Amelia shouldn’t even be here.” “She ruined the company’s credits.” “Tiffany deserves the role.” “At least she won’t embarrass the CEO.” Amelia walked in quietly, holding a single folder. The same folder she had worked so hard to fill. Chris sat at the front with the board members, cold and unreadable. He didn’t look at her. Not once. The meeting started. Names were called. Candidates were asked to step forward. But then, the Chairman asked: “Is there any final matter before we proceed?” Silence. And then Amelia stepped forward. Her voice calm. Steady. Powerful. “Yes. I have something important to present.” Every head turned. Chris finally looked at her — his expression confused, slightly irritated, but curious. Tiffany’s smile slowly stiffened. Amelia placed her folder on the presentation desk and looked directly at the board. “I would like to submit new evidence regarding the sabotage incident that damaged our company credits… and my name.” The hall went completely silent. She opened the folder and began displaying printed screenshots, system logs, timestamps, and security verification documents on the big screen. Gasps filled the room. “This login session,” Amelia said clearly, “was made under Tiffany Hale’s employee ID. She accessed restricted financial files, transferred credits to our rival company… and then planted false evidence under my system profile.” Tiffany’s face turned pale. “No—this is a lie! She’s lying—” she screamed, but her voice cracked. Amelia held up the final document. “This is an official report from the IT security team confirming the identity and device that carried out the transaction. It wasn’t me.” The board members began murmuring. Security stood up. Tiffany stumbled back, her mask completely shattered. Chris slowly rose from his chair, his eyes wide as the truth hit him like a blow. He wasn’t cold anymore. He looked furious — but not at Amelia. “Escort her out.” His voice was deadly calm, directed at security. “Effective immediately.” Tiffany broke down as guards approached her. “Chris! I did it for you! I-I wanted to protect you from her—she’s not good for you—!” But no one listened. She was dragged out as the hall watched in stunned silence. Chris turned to Amelia, guilt flooding his expression. She didn’t say a word. She didn't need to. The board stood. “Amelia Hart,” the Chairman announced, “we owe you an apology. You have proven your professionalism, intelligence, and loyalty to this company.” A pause. “Therefore, we unanimously reinstate you.” Then he added: “And effective today, you are officially appointed as the CEO’s Personal Assistant.” The hall erupted. Some clapped in shock. Others regretted ever doubting her. And Chris… he stepped toward her slowly. His coldness melted in his eyes, replaced with something warm, something aching. He whispered so only she could hear: “I’m sorry. I should have trusted you.” Amelia didn’t answer. She simply lifted her chin, strong and graceful. Because finally— The truth was hers. Her dignity was restored. And her rise had only just begun.
