Seated in the backseat of the car with Bryan by my side, I watched as he immersed himself in his laptop, oblivious to my presence. To my surprise, he abruptly requested the Smiths to excuse us, claiming an impromptu evening meeting, without even informing me beforehand. It was as if I had expected too much from him.
The Smiths were unfazed by his sudden departure, expressing gratitude for our acceptance of their offer. I had a fleeting desire to capture one last picture with them as a memento, but Bryan's disapproval was painfully evident. He didn't bother concealing his annoyance in front of the couple.
