An overwhelming feeling

Caleb I hated the house. I had known that before I walked through the front door. But knowing something and being forced to face it were two different things. The moment I stepped inside, every memory I’d spent years burying seemed to crawl back to the surface. The walls hadn’t changed. Neither had the people. My father still looked at me like my presence was an inconvenience he had been forced to tolerate. And somehow, after all these years, I was still expected to walk into this house and pretend it was home. It wasn’t. It never had been. I loosened the collar of my shirt as I walked down the hallway. Marcus caught up with me. “You okay?” I glanced at him. “Do I look okay?” He gave me a knowing look. “You look like you want to put a bullet through someone’s head.” “Oh yes, I do.” He chuckled softly. “You’re going to have to survive dinner first.” “I won’t be at dinner.” He stopped walking. “Caleb.” “I said I won’t be there.” I didn’t wait for his response. I walked back toward the entrance, grabbed my jacket and left the mansion. I needed air. I needed noise. I needed a distraction . Anything that would drown out the memories of this place. ⸻ The club was already packed when I arrived. Loud music. Lights flashed across the room. Sexy ladies shaking their ass, different sizes. People laughed, danced and drank as if nothing in the world mattered. I headed straight for the bar. “Whiskey.” The bartender poured me a glass. I drank it in one swallow. Then another. And another. I wasn’t trying to get drunk. Not exactly. I just wanted my head to shut up. My father’s face kept appearing in my mind. His cold eyes. His voice. The way he had looked at Jane. I hated that I’d brought her into this. She didn’t belong in that house. She didn’t belong anywhere near my family. And yet I’d had no choice. Keeping her close was the only way to keep her alive. I ordered another drink. A woman approached me. “Dancing?” I looked at her. “Yes” She smiled. I grabbed her hands and went to the dance floor,we rocked, she was all over me but my mind was still not at ease. Normally,I would have taken her to a hotel room and f****d the hell out of her sexy ass but I didn’t know why I didn’t have the urge too,I was distracted,so distracted. I came here to forget. But nothing takes the problem away I guess, Hours passed. The drinks blurred together. The anger remained. It always did. For a moment, I thought about Jane. Her stubbornness. Her constant questions. The way she’d looked at me when I’d told her to stay in the room. She had disobeyed me anyway. I should have been furious. I was. But somehow, that wasn’t what bothered me most. What bothered me was that I’d spent the entire evening wondering if she’d eaten. I laughed bitterly at myself. This was exactly what I didn’t need. “I wanna go for more drinks “ I let go of her waist and headed to the table. I asked the waiter for a drink. I finished my drink. “Another.” ⸻ By the time I returned to the mansion, it was past midnight. The house was quiet. Too quiet. I stood in the hallway, staring at the door to my room. Jane was inside. I didn’t know why my feet carried me there. I should have gone somewhere else. The guest room. The study. Anywhere. Instead, I raised my hand and knocked. Once. Twice. Nothing. I knocked again. The door finally opened. Jane stood there. Her hair was messy from sleep, and her eyes were heavy. She stared at me. Then her expression changed. “You’re drunk.” I leaned against the doorframe. “I know.” She looked at me carefully. “Where have you been?” I stared at her. “Out” “Obviously.” I almost smiled. I was so drunk,I looked into her eyes,it was filled with worry. I held her waist,I can see she wasn’t expecting that but all I felt was a striking urge to have, she was all I thought about at the club, her stubbornness, her pretty eyes, her lips . I made for her lips, she tried resisting but stopped and gave in,I kissed so intensely, she tasted like strawberry and her scent.. It made my d**k big in my pants,i stripped the purple night wear, this maids made a good choice because it fit her skin perfectly. I unbotton the night wear, her big boobs were let loose, the bounced, they were so irresistible. I pushed her gently towards the bed, still kissing her. She looked into my eyes like she didn’t want me to stop and I immediately sucked on her neck, moans escaped her throat,I used my tongue to find her n*****s ,I teased her,I licked around the areola of each boob, looking into her eyes and she dragged my n*****s and begged me to suck it. I sucked it while making my way to her thighs, she spread her legs for me,she was so wet down there,I rubbed my fingers on her c**t while looking into her eyes, she looked like she was in heaven. “Do you want me to put it in?” I asked. She was quiet and then she mumbled “I’m a virgin” I froze. For a moment, I simply stared at her. The alcohol in my system suddenly felt like it had disappeared. A strange heaviness settled in my chest. I stepped back immediately. “Sorry,” I muttered. “Put your clothes back on.” Jane remained where she was, watching me. I turned away from her and walked toward the couch. “I’ll take the couch.” “Caleb…” I stopped. Her voice was quiet. I looked over my shoulder. She was standing there, looking confused. “You’re angry with me?” I frowned. “No.” “Then why are you acting like this?” I let out a slow breath. Because I was drunk. Because I had crossed a line. Because for the first time in a very long time, I had wanted someone badly enough to forget every rule I had made for myself. And because she had trusted me enough to tell me something she probably hadn’t told many people. “I’m not angry with you, Jane.” “Then what?” I looked at her for a long moment. “I don’t trust myself tonight.” Her eyes widened slightly. I grabbed a pillow from the couch. “So I’m sleeping here.” She didn’t argue. I dropped onto the couch and turned away from her. The room fell silent. A few seconds later, I heard her footsteps. Then the soft sound of the bed creaking as she climbed onto it. I closed my eyes. I had gone to the club to forget everything. Instead, I’d come back with more things to think about. Jane. Her eyes. Her voice. And the fact that somehow, somewhere along the way, protecting her had stopped feeling like an obligation. It was becoming something else. Something I can’t explain.
