Kai The water glass on the nightstand trembled, then burst skyward like a mini geyser. I'd been so lost in thought, wondering if controlling water meant I could actually mess around with the stuff that makes up more than half of someone's body, that I hadn't even noticed my powers stirring. Water droplets splattered against the ceiling, raining down in a torrent. Each drop caught the dim light of my small room, transforming into a thousand little diamonds suspended in mid-air. I gawked, gaping at the surreal spectacle transpiring before my eyes. I blinked once, twice, waiting for reality to snap back into place. My heart pounded out a beat of its own as I marveled at the mess I’d just created. The room felt denser – heavy with dampness and thick with the smell of wet paint and wood. "
