“I don’t remember it being this dark last night,” Guy commented when they entered the alley. “I know there was at least one garage light on. That one.” Mack looked where he pointed. “Not happening tonight. Someone broke it, which means we’d better be careful. It could have been an accident, but…” Shadow’s low growl, and his raised hackles, alerted them that someone was around that he felt could be dangerous. Guy tightened his grip on Ghost, who was hissing angrily, and on Shadow’s rope, when two men stepped out from the shadows beside the darkened garage. One was empty-handed.
