Chapter 38 What Do We Do Now?
Aiden's POV Once the front door closes, it sends a booming echo that bounces off the walls through the room. The clicking, from when the door latched shut behind the officer, is what seemed to get my attention before I notice Milly walking straight to the door, just to lock it for peace of mind. Maybe the silence is because no one knows what to say right now, so an awkward silence fills the room making the little sounds more emphasized than they are normally. I walk right over to the main window in the front room, slowly opening up the dark closed curtains. Just so I can make sure that the police leave in one piece and with nothing to worry about. I have a strong feeling inside of me that this is not the end of his wrath, no matter how badly I want it to be. Milly walks straight over
