“Cal, how are you feeling today?” Louise asked.
Shrugging, Cal replied, “I’m alright. You were right. As long as I keep busy, I don’t have to think. I have weapons and mat training with Rainy in fifteen minutes, and then the computer class with Kendra.”
Smiling, Louise said, “I’m glad. Kendall tells me you did her hair and makeup this morning. She looks beautiful.”
Smiling, Cal replied, “She’s a pretty girl who just needs more self-confidence.”
“Well you have done more to build that within her than any of us in all Dirge, I will forever be in your debt.” Louise replied.
