A maid

Yolanda's POV. The hairpin, I'll never let him have access to it. My mother wouldn't take it likely with me If he succeeds in taking it. But then, how did he know about the hairpin? He's a wolf and should know nothing about such things. He clenched his fist on my neck while I struggled for breath. He pushed my back against the wall, and I could feel pains on my neck due to his painful grip. "I don't have…" He let go of my neck and landed a slap on my mouth that I could feel blood gathered in my mouth. "Don't even think of lying to me, I know that you have the hairpin. And so to make things easier for the both of us, you ought to summon your mother here with it." He remarked to me. I felt the turgidity of my heart, no matter how stupid I am, I won't make that mistake of summoning my mother with the hairpin. "Like I said, I don't have any hairpin with me." "So, what's on your hair? Isn't it the hairpin?" He scolded me, but I swallowed bitterly. I can't let him take it away from me. "Are you going to stay calm so I can take it myself?" I shook my head, "That's not it." "Not when it's silver in color." He snapped and gripped my head. Getting out of his grip was so difficult for me as he held me so tight to himself trying so hard to take the hairpin. "Stop all these please, let go of my head." I cried out amidst pain, but it was all in vain. He didn't let me go until he took the hairpin from my hair, causing my hair to loosen that it covered my face. "Stop worsening matters for yourself by lying to me, you'll summon your mother when you're out of here or I'll behead you." He threatened me. But that doesn't scare me a bit. "I'd rather die than summon anyone." I retaliated. He kicked my butt so hard before silence fell in the room. My heart was filled with sorrow each time I recalled that I've lost the hairpin given to me by my mother. I can't sit still without doing nothing, at least, I'll try as much as I can to get the hairpin once I'm out of the room. It's impossible for them to make use of it, but anyone who possesses supernatural power can make use of it. And so, I need to get it back before things get out of hand. Hours turned to days…. Due to the darkness in the room, I was unable to know when it's daylight and when it's night. I haven't tasted anything since I came to this pack, and I'm becoming so weak. My back leaned on the wall as I roamed my mind in thought because of the hairpin, that's what matters to me the most. Even if I die, I need to get the hairpin before giving up. I can't let them have it, even if it's to destroy it, I wouldn't hesitate to do that. The heavy sound on the door distracted my attention and I became alert to know who walked in. "Are you getting me out?" I murmured, knowing clearly that whoever it was would hear me due to the silence in the room. My two hands were gripped and I was lifted up from the ground. I was able to sense that they were two, but none of them said a single word to me. Finally, I saw daylight as I was drawn out of the room. They took me to a certain room that was too little like a hut and pushed me in before leaving. I rolled my eyes, guessing what's going on. "This is your room from today Henceforth. Freshen up and meet me so I'll assign you work as the king's personal slave." I overheard a feminine voice at my doorpost. I swirled my neck backwards to see a female dressed as a maid standing at my door. "I am the chief maid, and the king has assigned you under me, so you have to hurry up. On the bed lay your clothes." She explained to me. "Okay, I'll freshen up and come out." I assured her. She nodded and left, then I shut the door before heading to the top local bathroom to wash up. After I was done bathing, I dressed up and headed out of my room with my hair dripping water. My long dark hair kept waving at my back while touching my butt. "Hey! Excuse me.." I stopped one of the maids that were passing by. "Please, I need to see the chief maid." "She's over there." She pointed towards a particular direction and I followed that way only for me to come in contact with the king. He walked closer to me, while I stepped back trying to hold my guts. "Prepare my lunch and get it to my room, but before that, you should tidy up the room." He referred to me. I nodded. "That's not how to respond to the king." He yelled at me. "I'm sorry." I bowed to him, "Yes your majesty, I'll do as you said." "Good." He remarked and walked past me, after which I felt my heart at place. My eyes focused on him as he walked away until I was tapped on the cheek. "You should pack up your hair before seeing the king." The Chief maid referred to me, she brought out a hairpin from her pocket and held my hair with it. I smiled at her. "I'll go clean up his room and prepare his lunch." She returned the smile, "No problem, you're here to serve him so make sure to obey him. Always be neat before him." She advised me. I chuckled and left the passageway in search of his room until a guard directed me. Cleaning up the room was a bit difficult since it was so enormous but extremely beautiful. When I was done, I headed to the kitchen to prepare his meal. The chef helped me prepare the food since I'm still slacking to prepare their sort of food. I left the kitchen, heading to his room to serve breakfast, but I stumbled on a chair at the passageway, causing the tray of food to slip off my palm and litter on the ground. "What the heck is this?" I heard a loud voice scream at me, my eyes widened as I stared at myself and the lady standing before me, then at the food that spilled on the ground, messing up everywhere. She was dressed in a royal dress, and the king was standing opposite her. I froze at a spot due to the king's glare at me.
