Back in Chairman Park's house.
The morning light shone softly through the mansion windows, brightening Amelia's face with a glow.
She sat quietly at the edge of the leather couch, a steaming cup of tea in her hands, letting the warmth seep into her chilled fingers. The weight of what lay ahead pressed heavily against her chest.
She had passed the night in Jackson and Chairman Park's mansion, right after Jackson had picked her up from the airport and brought her home.
Across the room, Jackson stood near the windows, surveying the city below. Seoul stretched endlessly, alive, bustling, indifferent. After a minute, he walked towards Amelia.
"Morning. Ready?" Jackson's voice cut through her thoughts, calm but insistent.
Amelia lifted her gaze, meeting his steady eyes. "Yes," she said softly, her tone carrying both fire and determination.
Jackson nodded, a faint smile tugging at his lips. "Then let's begin."
They walked together down the quiet halls of Chairman Park's mansion, arriving at the study. The room smelled faintly of polished wood and aged leather. Shelves lined the walls, stacked with books, corporate files, and folders neatly organized by year. On the massive mahogany desk were stacks of documents, charts, and digital tablets flashing with information about the Kim Group.
Amelia's sharp eyes scanned the labels: Kim Group Holdings, Family Tree, Corporate Investments, Legal Documents, Strategic Plans.
Jackson stood beside the desk, his hands folded behind his back, a small smile playing on his lips.
"Amelia," he said softly, "everything you need is here. I've prepared the research over the past few years; the company, their family, their associates. Every weak spot, every opportunity, every relationship that could help or hinder you. You won't need to ask twice."
Amelia's eyes softened as she looked at him, a flash of gratitude and affection flickering in their depths. He had been by her side since the very beginning, silently shaping the path she now walked.
"You've done all this?" she asked, her voice quiet but firm.
Jackson nodded, a quiet pride in his expression. "I knew what you'd need. I've spent years mapping everything, so when the time came, you could act decisively. Afterall, I wanted to make sure you could rely on me completely."
Amelia's lips curved into the faintest smile, her eyes glimmering. She took a deep breath and moved closer to the desk, lifting the top file labeled Kim Family Tree. As she opened it, the information spread out before her in neat columns and photographs, names and dates perfectly organized.
Her sharp gaze caught one name and froze: Joon Kim.
Her heart skipped. She leaned closer, tracing the name with a trembling finger. The boy, now a young man, was only two years younger than her. Her mind raced as pieces of the story clicked into place.
"Joon? he's my father's biological son?" she whispered, her voice trembling despite her attempt to remain composed. "He's... part of their family?"
Jackson's expression softened, and he nodded. "Yes. He is the first son of your father and Sarah."
Amelia's chest tightened, a mix of disbelief, anger, and grief flooding her. "My father... has another child? Only two years younger than me? My mother and I... were gone for just two years, and he already had another child? Even if he never met me, but still..." Her voice faltered, tears welling in her eyes."
Her hands trembled as she set the file down. "First he left my mother and married another woman... then my mother is gone cause of him and his father... all to protect the empire's image and gain prestige? How cruel..."
Chairman Park, standing at the far side of the room, stepped forward. His face was calm, but his eyes were sharp. "Amelia," he said, "you may have it all wrong. After your disappearance, your father searched for both you and your mother. But he could not find you. Two years passed, and he had still not consummated his marriage with Sarah. The Yoo family couldn't stand their daughter being mistreated and threatened to end the partnership with the Kim's empire."
"That's when Chairman Kim, your grandfather, decided to leak hints that you and your mother were dead. He forged evidence. When Jiho received it, he believed it and broke down completely. He drank himself into oblivion. I believe that's when Sarah had his way with him and became pregnant with Joon. That caused a big issue between him and Sarah back then. It was a huge scandal everyone heard about." He continued.
Amelia's lips quivered, her hands clutching the desk.
Jackson stepped closer, gently brushing a strand of hair from her face. "He has other two children with Sarah, girls, twins, Racheal and Sophia... but... they're products of IVF, not love. To reduce the pressure from the Sarah Yoo's family, he decided to have the other children artificially. So your father definitely have kept you and your mother in his thoughts, just that he had no idea you are still alive. So don't hurt yourself too much with over thinking."
She shook her head, bitter tears falling freely. "I don't care! All I know is... my mother suffered because of him. Why not stand his ground? Why marry another woman when my mother was alive? How lonely she must have felt... the betrayal she must have felt from the man she trusted wholeheartedly... How scared she must have been while drowning in the cold sea...and now she's gone." She broke s
Jackson drew her into a gentle embrace, allowing her to release the storm of grief and fury she had carried for so long. He whispered softly, "I'm here. You're not alone anymore. Let it out."
The warm emotion lingered in the room for a moment, the three of them silent witnesses to the pain and loss that had shaped the woman Amelia had become.
Finally, Amelia pulled back, her hands gripping the edge of the desk. She wiped her tears and maintained her resolve.
She looked at Jackson and Chairman Park. "Then we bring them down. All of them. Every part of this family. Every last person who caused my mother pain."
Chairman Park nodded approvingly. "Good. That fire will serve you well. But remember: strategy first. No mistakes. No impulsive actions. This is a game of shadows, influence, and patience. One wrong move and it could all be lost."
Jackson stepped forward, spreading the files across the desk. "We've already mapped out their family structure, assets, and key players. I've identified vulnerabilities and alliances they rely on, habits, patterns. Everything you'll need to move carefully and decisively."
Amelia's eyes scanned the documents: every detail, every connection, every weakness laid bare. She saw her father, her stepmother Sarah, Joon, and the twins. Every corporate partnership, property, and social influence was documented.
Finally she said; "I pick him." She whispered, pointing to Joon's file. "He's our way in. We shall use him to infiltrate their family's inner circle. Everything else will follow."
Jackson smiled faintly, pride and admiration in his eyes. "Exactly my thoughts. He's young, impulsive, and influential. He will open doors you wouldn't otherwise reach."
Chairman Park leaned back in his chair, steering his fingers. "Since the first step has been decided, from there, every other steps will follow. A.Hudson Atelier and GMD group is already your base of power, Amelia. And with it, pave your way."
Amelia nodded, the weight of the plan settling on her shoulders. But she was ready. The years of training, education, and preparation had led to this moment. She had rebuilt herself from the wreckage of Yuna Kim into Amelia Hudson, a woman of beauty, intellect, and calculated precision. "I understand," she said, her voice low but unwavering. "And I'll move carefully. No mistakes."
Jackson placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "You won't be alone. I've been preparing for this as much as you have."
Amelia allowed herself a deep breath, closing her eyes for a brief moment. She could feel the power at her fingertips the culmination of fifteen years of pain, survival, and relentless training.
"This is what we will do," Amelia said softly, let's organize a welcome party for me and send out invitations to all influencial families including the Kim's family. She closed the folder and glanced at Jackson. "There, we will start Joon Kim. "
Chairman Park nodded, his sharp gaze approving.
Jackson handed her a tablet, showing the finalized list of influential families and media outlets that would attend her upcoming public introduction in Seoul. "Everything is ready. Invitations will be sent out to all major families, including the Kims."
Amelia's lips curved into a faint, confident smile. Her gaze darkened with quiet determination. "Perfect. I've waited fifteen years for this. Nothing will go off track."
Jackson nodded, his eyes meeting hers. "I'll make sure nothing distracts or endangers you. You only need to focus on your target."
Amelia rose, walking to the large window overlooking the city skyline. She pressed a hand to the glass, imagining the upcoming night: the crowd, the influential families, the whispers, and, most importantly, meeting the Kim's family.
"Soon," she whispered, almost to herself. "Everything will be in motion."
She turned back to Jackson and Chairman Park, her posture perfect, her aura unshakable. "Prepare the arrangements. The welcome party must be flawless. Every guest, every angle, every detail, I want it precise. And yes, the Kim family must be there."
Jackson gave a small nod. "Consider it done."
Chairman Park's eyes softened. "Your penthouse is ready. Close to the city, close enough to observe and move when needed, but discreet. Operate without drawing too much unnecessary attention."
Amelia's gaze hardened. "Got it, Chairman.
Chairman Park smiled faintly. "Now, rest tonight. Tomorrow, we begin in earnest."
Amelia nodded, a small smile playing on her lips as she turned to the desk one last time, with her gaze landing firmly on Joon Kim's profile. Her fingers brushed the photograph.
The first step had already been decided.
And somewhere in the midst of it all, Joon Kim would unknowingly become the doorway into the empire that had once betrayed her.
