Chapter 15

Jaden pov "Will do, we can meet tomorrow at the office if you want," I said confidently looking at my laptop screen. No need, you got yourself a deal!" Donald said through a video call conference. He is one of the investors who is willing to invest in the next hotel project in the south side of the city. I nodded at Donald and hurriedly closed the laptop. I got up from the chair eagerly to get out of the office. I wanted to see her, my kitten. I couldn't even believe she was here with me. I missed her and I couldn't stop thinking about her even when the meeting was going on. I ditched my suit jacket and rolled up the sleeves of my shirt and walked out the office room. Out of respect, servants bowed at me while others looked the opposite way as I walked past them. The place is silent, the way I like it. I want it to be silent so that I can hear even a drop of a pen. I reached the second floor and opened the bedroom where she is staying. As soon as I opened it, I was expecting Katherine but I received no one. I walked further into the room and opened up the bathroom and even the closet but I still couldn't find her. Scanning the room, I noticed two pairs of shoes near the bed. "s**t" I cursed. This place is heavily guarded. I don't think anyone dared to kidnap her or her sister in my watch from my house. If anyone tries to do so, they know the consequences very well. "Katherine," I shouted as I made my way through the stairs and entered the living room. Please don't tell me she dumb enough to run away from me. Unconsciously, I punched the nearest wall, leaving a hole. "My kitten ran away, who the f**k gave her that dumb idea? Her sister?" "Aye, bro! What happened?" James asked as he examined me punching the wall. The newest security was right beside him at the front door looking at me with wide eyes in confusion. I resisted to smash both of their heads. James just for being here at the wrong time and the good for nothing security guard for his careless job failing to watch over Katherine. "Katherine is gone", I told them my voice was void of any emotion. "Katherine?Who is Katherine?" He asked in a confused tone. "Wait wait, hold up, Katherine, as in the apartment girl? Are you talking about the sister duo?" James questioned me with his eyes widened and mouth ajar when he realised whom I'm talking about. "And what? She ran away? And you let her go?" His eyes widened further, clearly not believing that I, who handles half the city, was fooled by a girl and she managed to run away under my nose. "Yeah I let her go-f**k no, she ran away, you dumbass", I snarled at him with a glare. Sarcasm was evident in my voice just to prove him how stupid he can be. "I must tell you that girl is fine as hell, brown hairs till waist and thick on curves." James smirked. An image of my beautiful kitten appeared in my mind at the same time he said those words. I quickly composed myself before I lost myself in thoughts of my beautiful kitten. "James I suggest you to shut the f**k up before I put the bullet in your thick skull" I growled out at him, my threat piercing through the air. "Whoa!! Chill brother, I was just joking" he said while putting his hands up in surrender and the cocky smirk disappeared from his face. "Sir, I believe one of the maids saw both the girls twenty minutes ago," the security boy informs me, interrupting us. "Where at?" I chirped, My patience right now is on thin line. "What? Both the sisters were here?" James exclaimed, his face lit up, suddenly interested in this topic. "Katherine couldn't let go of her sister, I had to bring both of them here. They weren't safe there." I said, pinching the bridge of my nose, clearly not liking to give out details of what happened earlier. "Safe? Why? Are they hurt? What happened to them?" James asked, urging me to answer. "This is not the time to explain all of this James, I need to find her immediately. So can you please shut up for sometime" I glared at him. I walked past him to the front door. "Let me accompany you," James said as he sprinted by my side. "No, absolutely not." "Oh come on Jaden, it's clear you need help, I'm your very own reliable brother, if not me then who would help you," James said with a wink. I stopped at the front door and huffed in frustration. "Fine, but no more spewing nonsense or I won't hesitate to rip your tongue off," I warned. He nodded with a smirk, confirming that he will do exactly the opposite of what I said. I opened the front door and looked around and then asked the security boy to fetch the maid for help who saw the girls before they left. Maid tells me that he saw her about twenty minutes ago in the driveway. Feeling panicked, I reach in my pocket for my phone so that I can make some calls. I know I’ll find her, but I’m starting to worry about why she left. Something must have happened. I have no time and no patience for this right now. The only thing on my mind is finding my kitten and bringing her back here. Back home. Leo!” I shout, and my head of security steps around the corner. He’s never more than a few paces away from me "Need to know the location of the woman I was with. Katherine Carter and Amelia Carter.” I won't elaborate because Leo is the best of the best. He’s paid handsomely for the work he provides me, so he knows exactly who I was with , probably before even I did. And he’s had eyes on her since I stepped inside the house. “We have a car waiting out front for whatever you need, sir.” I step out into the driveway and walk directly to the black SUV that’s waiting with its back door open. As I suspected, he anticipated my next move and planned ahead. “We’ve been able to get camera footage of the sedan she left in. We’re tracking it through closed circuit television and have pinpointed a location just south of here.” “Excellent,” James said, getting in the back of the SUV and turning on the monitor in front of me. A beacon appears on the screen as Leo climbs in the front passenger seat and tells the driver where to go. It hurts me to think that she considers me as a monster who held her hostage. I only wanted to make sure she was safe. Safe from that dumpster she calls her home. I need to find her as soon as possible and demand an explanation for leaving like this. I was being too light on her. I guess it's time to show kitten what a real monster I can be. Anger rises up my neck as I think how she even managed to run away from me. No one has dared to pull out a stunt like this upon me. "Sir, we’ve lost it,” Leo said, breaking me from my thoughts. I saw the beacon disappear. “We’ll track it to the last location we received. We’ll find her". I hold my clenched fist to my mouth as I look out the window and watch the forest pass by. “I forgot to tell Katherine how much I love to hunt."
