The town of Blackridge didn’t exist on most maps. People who left forgot it. People who stayed… changed. jeheak had lived there his whole life, but lately, something felt off. Not just the flickering streetlights or the way the woods seemed closer at night—but the people. His friends laughed slower. His mom stared at the walls like she was listening to something behind them. And then there were the shadows. Not normal shadows. These ones moved when nothing else did. It started the night jeheak heard scratching under his bed. At first, he thought it was a rat. Then it whispered his name. “je…heak…” He froze. The voice sounded like him. The next morning, things got worse. His best friend Jay didn’t show up to school. Nobody seemed to remember him except jewels. It was like Jay had been erased. That’s when jeheak realized something terrifying: The monsters weren’t just hiding in the dark. They were taking people. Replacing them. As kaneki digs deeper, he finds an old journal hidden in his attic—written by someone even memories. And at the bottom of one page, written in shaky letters: “If you’re reading this, it already knows you exist.” Now kaneki has to figure out who’s real and who isn’t.
