DAPHNE I'm running before I've fully processed the words. The healer's message had been short, clipped, urgent: Get to the hospital. Now. My feet pound against the stone hallway, heart hammering in my chest. Pack members press themselves against the walls as I sprint past, but I barely register them. I burst through the hospital doors hard enough that they slam against the walls. The healer—Rose, gray-haired and sharp-eyed—is waiting just inside. Her face is grim. "Where?" I demand. "Room three.
