Zara's POV Cole was waiting in the lobby when I arrived at eight-thirty. I knew he would be. We had planned this down to the minute. I would arrive during peak morning traffic when the lobby was full of employees heading to their floors. He would intercept me near the security desk. We would argue loud enough to be overheard but not so loud it seemed theatrical. I walked through the glass doors and he was there, standing near the elevators with his phone in his hand like he had been waiting. "We need to talk," he said. "Not here." "Yes here. You've been avoiding my calls for two days." That part was true. We had staged distance over the weekend to make this morning feel like a breaking point. I had stayed at Lily's. Cole had sent me four messages I had not answered. Anyone checking
