Unfortunately, I had to spend two more days in the hospital. The doctor said that I still had to be monitored and be given special attention. Time dragged on slowly and the environment I was forced to stay in didn't make me see things in a better light, either. The smell of antiseptic had become something that I had gotten used to. It made a small home in my nostrils. Forcing myself to eat the food available in the hospital also proved to be a difficult task. There were times when Jacob offered to get me some food from outside, but I refused. Any act of pity or sympathy anyone threw my way irked me and I tried to shield myself away from it as best I could. I found the flaunting of such emotions quite unnecessary.
