“Hi Oceance. How have you been?” Elise asked Oceane, leaving me puzzled.
My eyes moved from Oceane and then to Elise again. “Umm…the both of you know each other?” The question rushed out of my mouth as I silently prayed for someone to answer me.
“We are old schoolmates,” Oceane rushed to answer, still maintaining contact with Elise. Oceane’s gaze hardened on Elise and her lips twitched ever so slightly.
“Yes, we are,” Elise agreed with a small smile.
There was definitely something going on and I didn't need to be a scientist to know that the two women I was with despised each other. Elise tried to smile often but her smile didn't reach her eyes and Oceane’s prominent scowl was visible from a mile away.
