“Jocelyn, I’m so sorry,” I started. His lips were bent downwards and I could see the stress lines on his face. No longer did his hair look neat instead they were disheveled and looked like he had run his hands through them too much. No longer were his emotions carefully hidden behind a shield instead they were on full display; perfectly unguarded. “Jacob no.” I knew that him apologizing wouldn't change anything.
