13 Debbie squinted, attempting to see anything that might indicate they were still driving on the road. Wind whipped around the car as they slowly moved forward, but the dust had reduced the visibility to almost nothing. “Maybe we should pull over,” she said. “Pull over where?” Bob asked, running a hand through his hair. “I might drive right into a ravine for all I know.” “But we’ve passed a zillion huge electronic signs that said, ‘If you’re caught in a dust storm, pull over, keep your seatbelts on, turn off your lights and take your feet off the brakes.’ I doubt we are going to fly off a cliff when they are telling us to pull over and wait it out.” “But if we keep going, even if it’s slowly, we’ll at least be making progress.
