Chapter 18 I GLANCED AROUND. THICK trees surrounded us and dirt lay at our feet. There were no houses or people around us at all. We could have been in a Fae realm for all I knew. I wasn’t quite sure how I felt. Should I be worried, scared? Something else entirely? I just needed to be ready for anything. That was it. I needed to be ready. My head spun as I let go of my father’s hand and put my arm out to catch myself as I staggered sideways, hitting a large tree. “Are we there yet?” I managed to get out.
