“I understand. We will make the arrangements right away. The child can wait no longer.” The director finally smiled. This was great. He wasn’t upset, and the child would be saved. He was also saddened by what he had just seen, and his heart ached for that child.
“Dan, I’m going to the washroom.” Lillian said in a trance. Everyone had forgotten about her. She forced a smile to hide the anxiety in her eyes.
Daniel nodded his head. His mind was solely on Rainy, the little girl whom he had met once. Thus, he failed to notice the difference in Lillian’s usual expression.
