“The food here was so yummy.” I could still feel the flavors on my tongue.
“It sure was. If you ever visit America, then I will make sure that you eat good food in our restaurants.”
“Your family owns restaurants too?”
“Yup, my mother is one of the best chefs, and she is the one who has opened restaurants.”
“Your mother is amazing.” He chuckled and I gave him a look. “But I don’t think that I will be able to come to America.”
“Why?” I could feel that he was disheartened.
“I don’t have enough money to travel around. Though I am studying for a proper job, I don’t know when I will have enough money to come to America.” If it was for Brandon then I would love to go to America, even if there is a high chance that I might end up meeting my family whom I don’t want to meet until I am confident enough that I won’t shake in front of them.
“Then if I come and take you, will you come with me?” I looked at him.
“Will that be alright? Won’t your girl feel sad about that?”
“I don’t think that she will mind it.”
“Then I will wait for you to come and take me.” I said with a smile, and he smiled back at me.
“Alicia!!” My eyes widened when I heard a familiar voice and found Samantha, who was on her way back home.
“Sam…” She came towards me.
“I thought that you must have gone home and taken some rest, but here you are.” I rubbed the back of my neck and at that time, Romeo barked at her.
“I guess this is your Romeo.”
“Yup he is.” I said while lightly petting him, and then her eyes went on Brandon, who passed her a smile.
“I guess I know why you have taken an early leave.”
“It is not what it looks like.”
“Then take care to explain if this isn’t a date, then what it is.” I looked at Brandon, and he gave me a little nod. I sighed and then we entered a café.

“It is unbelievable.” I bit my lips.
“I know right.”
"Your story feels like it has been taken from a novel and even the coincidence that the person who has knocked on your door is not an ordinary man but a billionaire. You sure have some luck Alicia." She said while playing with Romeo, who became comfortable with her in a few minutes.
"No comment," I said.
"I am sorry for the late introduction, but I am Samantha Smith, a friend of Alicia."
"I am Brandon Wilson."
“You are truly a piece of art. I have to admit that Mr. Wilson.” Brandon chuckled at that, and then she looked at me.
“So, you guys don’t know for so long yet you guys are on a date?” That made me blush. Date? With Brandon? If that happens, then it will be a dream come true.
“You are getting the wrong idea. We were just outside eating the food….”
“Here is your order.” The waitress came and placed the order.
“You guys took quite a time to serve this.” Sam told her.
“I am sorry for the delay.” After saying that, she went away from there. Samantha was looking at us while sipping her coffee.
“In the last two weeks we have become quite friends, and today we met outside, and I was hungry, so we went to eat outside.”
“You don’t seem to know each other for just a few weeks.”
“Sam, why are you making this so hard?”
“Mr. Wilson, if you don't mind, then I would like to talk with my friend privately.”
“Brandon, will you be able to go home?” I looked at him and he nodded. “Then I will meet you at home.”
“Alright.” He said and went outside with Romeo.
“Why did you send him home directly? I wouldn’t have taken so much of your time.” I shook my head.
“What was that?”
“What is what?”
“I have told you everything but yet you were insisting that we were dating. Why were you doing it?”
“Because you guys were looking like that and the way you were eyeing that man, I could say that you like him already.” I bit my lips.
“I do like him.”
“Didn’t you say that you have known each other for a few weeks only?” I was playing with my fingers.
“I know that this seems too fast, and I am afraid that as fast as I have developed the feeling, that soon I might get hurt too. I was afraid, and yet I was unable to control myself from liking him. In these past few days, I have felt like I am at home, which I had thought that I had lost when I had left my family because of him, the house which always felt so lonely wasn’t lonely anymore.”
“But he is a businessman and, eventually, he has a place to go back.”
“I am aware of that. I am clearly aware of that and that is why I haven’t told him anything about my feelings, so that when that day comes, he won’t have any burden to carry with him.” She put her hand on mine and I looked at her. She was giving me a concerned look.
“This is the first time I've seen you like this.”
“Sam…my family, especially my father, disowned me because he thought that I wasn’t following his orders and had hurt his pride, but I didn’t do anything like that, but that attitude of his was suffocating. He was controlling me and my other siblings. I wasn’t able to stand that, so for the first time in my life I stood for myself, which eventually went against him, and he disowned me.
With the help of my aunt, I was able to come over here so that I could start fresh, but everything that had happened that day, still feels like it had happened yesterday, and it always makes my heart heavier.
I had almost lost all the hope of having a home and family when I left that home, but after that rainy night, everything changed. Brandon became a part of my life even though I didn’t want him to be. He made me feel like home and the part where he has to leave me behind one day, makes my heart tighten.” I was crying already.
“Alicia. You have always been smiling that none of us would have realized what you might have been going through. I can’t guarantee if Brandon will be here or not, but I promise you that whenever you need me, I will come to you. So please don’t cry.” I nodded and wiped away my tears.
“Thank you so much.” I calmed myself down, and we went outside and found Brandon waiting on the other side of the road.
“Why didn’t you go home?”
“Romeo wanted to play more, so we were roaming around and when I came back here, I saw that you were still here, so we thought to wait. Right, Romeo?” He let out a bark and I chuckled.
“Alright, good night to both of you.” Sam said, and went to her home.
“Let’s go home.” Brandon said, and I smiled in his way.
“Yup.”
