Chapter 2

Alicia After introducing each other, none of us really went ahead to continue the conversation. I was just looking everywhere but didn't dare to look in his eyes. I was really feeling uncomfortable with a stranger in my house and that also a guy. Really? Why did God have to send him here? For what had he sent him here? "It will not help us if we don't talk." He said, and I looked at him and sighed. He is correct! Nothing will come out by staying silent. "What will we talk about? We are strangers. We can't gossip around." I told him, "Hmm... as I can see we are no longer strangers as I know your name, and you know mine." He said, I felt like he was trying to solve the hardest question with everything he learned, and yet he was still unable to solve it. But the reasoning is still not good. How can, by knowing the names only, we be no longer strangers? "This is enough information for us. Right? Then we can be friends. Oh wait, we can be a couple, or maybe we should get married because this information is enough for us to get a happy life ahead." I said annoyingly and he looked at me weirdly. Just Great!!! "I didn't know that you were so desperate to get married." He said, and my eyes went wide, and I looked at him much more like glaring in his way. "Why did you feel that I was desperate to get married? I am happy with my single and great life." I said, and he looked around. "Yeah, I can see how great you are living." He literally mocked me. "Hey! I heard you." I told him. "That's why I said so that you can hear it." He said, and I glared at him, and he just shrugged. "I don't have any mood to talk to you now. The door is that way, you can go out." I said and pointed towards the door. "But I see there is only a wall. The door is behind you." He said, and I looked at my pointing finger, and it was pointing towards the wall and I slapped my temple. He chuckled. "This is not at all funny, Brandon." I said, and he stopped laughing. "I am very lucky that you are talking to me." He mocked me and I rolled my eyes. "By the way, how old are you?" I asked. Some details about this stranger would not harm. Right? "24 and you?" He asked. "32" I said, and his eyes widened. "But it doesn't look like you are 32. You look to be in your early twenties." He said, and I am in my early twenties. It is just to be on the safe side. I am trying to drag my age, but will it really be worth it? "I was 22, ten years ago. Now I am 32." I said and was laughing inwardly. "You aren't married yet?" He asked and I shook my head. "No, I haven't found my perfect bridegroom yet." I said, and he looked at him like I was joking with him, which I was really doing. "You are beautiful. I doubt that none of the men looked at you. I can just bet that you haven't looked at them." He said. "Of course. After all, I wanted someone who could take care of my needs. " I said. And then there was silence for a few seconds until I decided to break it off. "By the way, what are you doing in Downing Street at midnight?" I asked him, and he looked at me totally shocked. Has he seen the Ghost? "This is not Northbrook?" He asked, and I looked at him with confused eyes. "Northbrook is quite far from here." I said, and he nodded. "Oh," he just said. "So how did you get here?" I asked him, and he looked at me like he was debating inside. "I don't know if I should share this or not, but I assume that......" He paused." Forget it. Last night, after making a deal with the Palais company, I went out to go to my hotel room. After moving away from there, I was attacked by someone and I drove away from there. In the middle of the night, my car too broke down, and I didn't find any help but to run away from there and when I came here, I saw your house and came over here and knocked on it, but you weren't opening and after some shouting, at last you opened the door." He said and at the last line he rolled his eyes. You really are something. You were expecting me to open the door for a stranger. I was cursing him in my mind before I realized his accent. "Are you American?" I asked him. "Yes, I am. But how do you know this?" He asked. "By your accent, I am also American." I said excitedly. "There is nothing to be excited about. What are you doing outside America?" He asked and I was tense over there only. "Actually I had come over for work." I said and he looked at me. "Which work?" He asked "I am a waitress and a chef." I said and he looked at me. "You had come from America to London to work for this?" He asked and I sighed. I can't tell him what happened to me. "I can't tell you right now what the reason is as it is a long story." I said and he nodded. "I can understand. I guess." I shook my head. "So are you hungry?" I asked him. "Yeah sure." He said. "I am already telling you that the type of food you are used to eating, you won't be able to eat over here." I said and made Coffee and bread butter. I gave it to him. "I can't provide you with royal food." I said and he chuckled. "No problem." He finished it. "So why don't you contact your family and tell them about your whereabouts?" I asked. "My phone got missing while running away." He said and I looked at him. "Then what is your plan?" I asked him. "Planning to go back to the hotel." He said and I nodded and I repeated the story he told me in my mind. "I guess it is not a great idea." I said "Why?" He asked "Like last night you got attacked. I guess there is someone who wants to kill you or is after you for something." I said and he nodded. "That could be a possibility." He said it like it was such a natural thing. “But then what should I do?” He asked and I thought for a moment. I don't want to have this dea but it may save his life. "I do have an idea but it depends if you will like it or not." I said and he looked at me. "You just tell me." He said and now I regret saying that. I shook my head. Why do I have to say those words? I am so stupid. "Tell me" I again shook my head and he sighed "Just tell me Alicia." He said. It was quite cold. "You can stay over here till your parents locate you." I said in one breath and I was waiting for him to laugh or mock me or show some disgraceful comments. But surprisingly none of them come. I looked up and saw he was thinking something and that was too deep. What he might be thinking about my plan? I thought and he smiled. "This is a great idea and maybe I can learn more about the surroundings." He said and I looked at him confused. Is he for real? I thought. "I am real only." He said "Have I said that aloud?' I asked and he nodded and I mentally slapped myself. "Hmm.... I want to use the washroom." He said "It is that way." I said and he nodded. God where am I stuck and with whom I am stuck? It sucks that I am helpless in this situation.
