Knowing her parents were coming to visit and that she now had a birthday party to organise, Jess had no choice but to drag herself into action. She still felt terrible but had been forcing herself to get up each morning to tackle more work around the house. While she needed Aaron for the heavy lifting she did her best to ignore the excuses her anxiety kept filling her head with. She finished painting the spare room so the skirting boards could be taken from their long term resting place on the bed and nailed to the walls. A lick of high-gloss paint transformed the room immediately. A quick trip to Bunnings for curtains and hanging rods had the room visitor-ready at long last.
