‘Hey, Jacob, what’s up with you and Georgie?’ Nadia nudged the young man sitting next to her in the back seat of Kyle’s car. ‘Nothing much.’ Melissa pinched Nadia’s arm to warn her to stop. ‘That’s not what Georgie says,’ responded Nadia. ‘Ask Melissa.’ On this occasion Jacob decided to humour her. He leaned forward and gave Melissa a quizzical look. Melissa shook her head, embarrassed. ‘I don’t know anything.’ She was disappointed to find out Kyle had offered Jacob a ride back to Redcliffe with them.
