She was back in my arms, safe. As soon as we walked out of the warehouse I felt the tension in her muscles vanish, her body collapsing into me completely. I kept her still, secure to me.
Her ankles were both swollen, but one was clearly broken. Both bleeding and covered in splinters. Her eyelids are closed, I can see her eyes fluttering behind them. She is drained. Thankfully, I had my clan doctor on speed dial. That just meant taking her into my territory and humans have never entered.
It’s not that humans weren’t welcome in. No, I had no problem with it. However, it can be overwhelming. You have to enter through wards I placed around it that shield it from the human world. No one can enter with any ill intention toward my people.
