"Oh s**t we're late!!" Alen shouted after looking at the alarm clock on the table in his room. It read 8:17am. He rushed to wake Seren up.

"Hey get up, we're late already" He said as he hit Seren's face with a pillow.

Seren dashed straight to the bathroom not even glancing at Alen. Alen rushed to the other bathroom to take his bath.

"You think Mirana's already there?" Alen asked as they were running towards the training center.

"Who knows, but we're toast!!"

"You guys are late!!" Minato shouted and they quickened their pace.

"Guys, what happened? Did you guys have a hangover?" Mirana asked after they had reached their destination. They were panting seriously.

"Mirana, w-we don't drink" Alen said as he tried to catch his breath.

"You two are not time conscious. 8 was the designated time and look at the time, you're 47 minutes late, that's almost an hour"

"We're sorry Sir Minato" they apologized.

"I would appreciate if you call me Sensei, that's what teachers are called from where I come from" He corrected.

"S-sensei?"

"Yep, Minato sensei. Okay, let's head to training. We've lost time"

They followed him to the hall.

"Okay, the first thing I'll be teaching you brats is how to touch the source"

"Everywhere I go, I keep hearing touching the source. It means the magic abilities we have right?" Alen asked.

"Not entirely correct. In this life, we're made to understand that everything in this life is made up of atoms right. There is an innate ability that resides in everyone that enables us to decompose and cause this atoms to explode. This is called malkri. When an individual learns how to draw out the this malkri, he can even crush pillars and rocks with his bare hands" he demonstrated by punching the wall and the wall broke, leaving a big hole.

"Woah, cool"

Some people are born naturally and they can draw out malkri. I started drawing out malkri when i was seven. I could remember vividly i divided the river at the back of my school. Although there are cases where people unconsciously draw out malkri due to a strong hit on their emotion, like emotions of love, hate, the wanting to protect something or someone and that's where you three fall in"

"Us?"

"Yeah, able to draw out malkri is known as touching the source"

"So in other words, drawing out malkri means touching the source. Is there any trick to drawing malkri" Alen asked.

"Well, drawing malkri deals mainly on the state of the mind and innate capabilities. Some people no matter how hard they try and how clear their minds are, they'll never be able to touch the source, bur since you've already touch the source we are already a headstart"

Minato brought out three jade beads and handed them over to his students.

"Now, the basic step to drawing malkri is to make these beads glow. Listen and listen well. When drawing malkri, you have to let go of everything around you, let your mind be focused on you and the universe, feel every bit of the universe melting and drawing towards you. Let it flow through you like an open sieve, then tap from it" as he said he demonstrated by letting up his jade bead.

"As expected of the crystal glory" Minato said . He then turned to the boys.

"Hey concentrate, she's already ahead of you!!"

He shouted.

"Oh, right, I need to concentrate" Alen said as he held his jade bead tightly.

"Mine's lit up" Seren called on Minato's attention.

"Wow, good job. Now that leaves only you, Alen" he turned to face Alen.

"I don't know what's going on. I mean iv3 tried but it's not coming" Alen complained.

"Hey listen, it's okay to mess up during your first trial. The problem is if you're ready to continue fighting and not giving up. Learnt that from Thorfinn Karlsefni" Minato encouraged Alen.

"I never knew sensei had this side of him before . I mean see the way he's comforting Alen" Mirana whispered into Seren's ear.

"Yeah, you're right"

"Okay, since it's not working, we'll try another method"

"Which is?"

"Eliminating trash like you" Minato said as he blew Alen backwards.

"Hey sensei, what are you--"

"Don't move you two, or I'll kill him for real" Minato set up a barrier, making them unable to come to Alen's aid.

"Sensei, are you losing it?" Alen asked, with fear written all over him.

"Of course I'm losing it. I mean I'm tired of accommodating bullshits like you so I've been called to stamp it out. Trash by trash by trash" He said as he created a wind blade and sentvit to Alen

"Woah" Alen managed to dodge the first blade.

"Wow, you're really good at running away, aren't you?" Minato released more wind blades towards Alen. Some missed him while some cut him shallow.

"Aah!!" Alen let out a loud cry.

"That's more like it" Minato said as he walked towards Alen.

"So sorry but I'm guessing this is your end" Minato said as he created spears to pierce through Alen.

"Alen!!!"

"I can't die just yet!!" Alen said as he punched the air, destroying the spears.

"Wow, so you're the same user as I am" Minato said.

"I won't let you end me just like that sensei"

"Now what did you think about at that moment?" Minato asked

W-well, I was thinking about not dying" Alen said.

"Good, now use that thinking of yours to draw out malkri. Let that be your driving force" Minato instructed.

Alen Closed his eyes, fully concentrating on the thought of staying alive.

"Zloom"

Alen's jade bead little up.

"Congratulations, you've finally learnt to draw malkri" Minato said as he patted Alen on the back.

"Thanks a lot sensei" Alen said with a drop of tear rolling down his cheeks.

"But sensei, that was crazy, you'd have killed him you know" Mirana attacked Minato with words.

"Um sorry about that. This is like my final resort to make students draw out malkri and if it doesn't work, it means that they cannot touch the source" Minato defended.

"Still it doesn't change the fact that you almost had him killed"

"And I said I'm sorry. Listen up, you three will keep your jade beads and use it for practice. By next week, you three should know how to draw malkri so then you'd be joining the rest of the class so that you all would be on the same page. Your next lesson is how to use raw malkri as a weapon just like I did"

"Um, when did you use it as a weapon?" Seren asked.

"When I broke the wall. I look forward to seeing you guys next week"

With that he zoomed of like a leaf in the wind.

"We're getting there, little by little"

"Yeah"
